The first time Olivia Carter met Alexander King, she was standing in the pouring rain outside the hospital.

Her mother's surgery was scheduled for the next morning, but Olivia still didn't have enough money to pay for it. She clutched the unpaid bill in trembling hands as tears mixed with the rain.

"What am I going to do?" she whispered.

A sleek black luxury car pulled up beside her.

The back window rolled down, revealing a handsome man in a tailored black suit. His sharp jawline and piercing blue eyes made him look intimidating, yet strangely calm.

"Miss Olivia Carter?" he asked.

She frowned. "How do you know my name?"

"I know a lot about you."

Before she could reply, the driver opened the door.

"My name is Alexander King," the man said. "CEO of King Enterprises."

Olivia had heard of him. He was one of the youngest billionaires in the country, famous for his wealth and feared for his cold personality.

"I have a proposal for you."

She stared at him cautiously.

"What kind of proposal?"

He placed a document on the seat beside him.

"A marriage contract."

Olivia laughed nervously.

"You must be joking."

"I never joke."

The smile vanished from her face.

"Marry me for one year. In return, I'll pay every hospital bill, clear your debts, and give you enough money to start a new life."

She couldn't believe what she was hearing.

"Why me?"

Alexander looked away for a moment.

"Because you're the only woman who can help me protect a secret."

Lightning flashed across the sky.

Olivia's heart pounded as she looked from the contract to the stranger who could either save her family... or change her life forever.

She took a deep breath.

"I need time to think."

Alexander nodded.

"You have until sunrise."
