Her words stirred my heart wildly!
Looking at her smiling face so closely, my heart felt like it was about to jump out of my chest. At that moment, in the broken cabin, it was just the two of us. She was clearly hinting at something.
The bright sunlight stimulated the hormones in our bodies.
I lowered my head and kissed Eva's lips. They were as soft as I had imagined.
Eva was stunned for a moment and then responded passionately. We kissed passionately amidst the wreckage.
My hand instinctively went to Eva's waist, my fingers gently caressing her smooth skin and becoming bolder with each movement.
Suddenly, the cabin started shaking violently, and there was a sharp sound of metal scraping.
Eva let out a scream and tumbled toward the window. She was going to fall out of that broken window! I quickly grabbed Eva's hand and pulled her into my arms. The cabin continued to shake and to maintain balance, I had to hold Eva while lying in the cockpit.
The cabin gradually stabilized, and I saw Eva blush. It was only an inch away from mine.
"What's going on? Are you guys okay?" Mandy's worried voice came from outside the cabin. The other girls were shouting our names.
Eva and I snapped back to reality. Both of us tried to calm down.
Holding Eva, I shouted back, "We're fine. Don't worry!" I could tell Eva was somewhat reluctant to stop. But at that moment, we couldn't continue. We might fall to our deaths if we did.
"Don't worry, there will be plenty of chances in the future." Seeing my frustration, Eva gently kissed me on the lips before turning her head to continue fiddling with the control panel.
I was about to say something when I heard a click. She had opened the control panel!
"How's it looking? Is there any radio equipment?" I snapped out of it and asked hurriedly.
"There is, but the radio has been severely damaged in the crash." Eva pointed to some circuit boards inside the control panel. "I can try to repair it, but I can't guarantee it will work."
Hearing this, I couldn't help but feel a bit disappointed. Then, Eva and I took out the entire circuit board and many other parts. We also took quite a few metal plates from the plane. We even took some chairs!
In our cave, there was hardly any furniture. For every meal, we had to squat on the ground. Sometimes, squatting for too long made our legs numb.
"This is great. Now we can sit and enjoy our meals!" Zoe exclaimed happily.
"Is that all it takes to make you happy? There are a lot of sponges in the cabin. Give me some time, and I can make a sofa!" I patted my chest confidently.
"A sofa?" Hearing my words, the girls got excited and surrounded me, chattering nonstop. Even Stella's eyes lit up, saying she missed the big sofa at home.
"Zack, you're the best!" Zoe looked at me with admiration and then held my arm affectionately.
Mandy carefully wiped the sweat from my forehead and said, "I think we should put those sponges in our grass beds to make them more comfortable to sleep on."
"We could sew the sponges into the animal skins and make a blanket!" Zoe suddenly got an idea and excitedly grabbed my hand.
Stella looked at Zoe and Mandy standing close to me and then saw Eva's disheveled hair and slightly messy clothes.
Stella's eyes widened in anger. 'What kind of activity could mess up her hair and clothes like this? Zack, you rascal!' Stella glared at me fiercely.
I didn't notice Stella's sudden change in expression and turned to her, "Why don't we look for more sponges?"
As soon as I finished speaking, Stella sneered and retorted, "Why look for sponges? I think you're just getting carried away, Zack! Our main task is to build a raft and get out to sea. Making a sofa is just a waste of time!"
"Who has upset you today, Stella?" I scratched my head, puzzled.
Hearing my words, Stella got even angrier, snorting and turning away from me. This girl's mood swings were faster than flipping a book. I curled my lips, too lazy to argue with her. She got mad at least eight times a day. As long as it didn't stop us from working, it was fine.
I turned to gather everyone and distribute all the collected items. We spent the whole day sorting and organizing these materials. As night fell, we finally headed back.
This time, we were loaded with supplies. Even though we were carrying heavy items, everyone's spirits were high, and our laughter echoed through the hills and forests.
But happiness was always short-lived. When we returned to the cave, everyone was stunned, and our faces turned pale.
The cave was empty. Nothing was left inside!
All our stored food, the preserved meat, the dried fish, the tools we had painstakingly made, helmets, pots, bamboo spears, and bowls were gone! These things were all prepared for winter. We spent so much effort and energy to store them!
Looking at the empty cave, it felt like our hearts were bleeding.
"Quinn is missing!" I realized immediately, and my eyes were filled with deep hatred.
