I had heard that some primitive and backward regions still had cannibals. Could these indigenous people be from such a tribe? Of course, the ones currently active on the island might not be indigenous people.
After all, there were Japanese corpses on this island, and during World War II, the Axis powers conducted human experiments. Perhaps those indigenous people had long been killed by them.
I couldn't make sense of it for now. So I calmed down and thought about how to escape the cave.
There were several exits in the cave, along with some holes like the one I came through. Right in front of the cave was a large opening, covered by vines and various plants, with only a few rays of sunlight seeping through. Without the katana I found on the Japanese corpse, getting out might have been quite a hassle.
After a lot of effort, I finally cleared a path to get out.
"I f*cking survived!" I shouted, taking a deep breath of fresh air outside the cave. My eyes flashed with determination.
Leo had tried to kill me today. I hadn't driven him away before because I didn't want to cause any deaths. But now, I had to change my attitude towards him completely.
I was not a saint. Since he tried to kill me, why shouldn't I kill him? Of course, I had to find a chance to deal with Leo secretly, just like he did. After all, we might be rescued from this island someday, and I didn't want to end up in jail. Besides, killing him in front of the girls might scare them.
I thought for a while, and a crazy plan began to form in my mind.
I walked swiftly towards the cave, but to my surprise, when I parted a patch of grass, I found a woman squatting with her back to me. It seemed she was prepared to release herself.
Her pants were pulled down to her knees, exposing her lower body completely.
I was dumbfounded and swallowed instinctively, forgetting all about Leo for the moment.
The squatting woman noticed me and screamed, "Zack!"
I snapped back to reality and realized the woman was Stella. My vision went black, and I almost fainted on the spot. I groaned inwardly. Why did it have to be this princess? If it were Mandy or Quinn, something good might have happened, but it was her, which meant big trouble for me.
Stella pulled up her pants quickly, her face flushed with embarrassment, and glared at me with eyes that seemed to shoot fire.
"I won't let you get away with this! You pervert, you... I..." Stella was so furious that she was almost biting her teeth off. Unfortunately, her good upbringing meant she only knew a few curse words, like pervert and bad guy. I had almost become immune to them during this time.
"Well, I didn't see anything. Do you believe me?" I coughed awkwardly, rubbing my nose.
"Who would believe you, you jerk?!" Stella's eyes welled up with tears of shame and anger as she stomped her foot and ran off.
I rubbed my nose, feeling a bit embarrassed. I had offended her now. Who knew how this girl would deal with me later?
I sighed deeply and continued towards the cave.
Just as I reached the entrance, I heard Leo's voice. "Who knew there were wolves on that mountain? We ran for our lives, and though I made it back, I heard a scream from behind. Zack is probably gone."
"It's a pity. Although I had some minor conflicts with him, we're all poor souls stranded on this island. We're all buddies! Who knew he would die like this? It's all my fault for not being able to save him!" As he spoke, Leo even wiped away non-existent tears.
Leo could put on an act, looking as if he had lost a dear friend.
'You b**tard!'
"How could this happen? Is Zack dead?" Zoe sat on the ground in a daze, tears already streaming down her face.
"How could it be? You encountered wolves, and even a loser like you survived, but Zack didn't?" Mandy was stunned, full of disbelief, her voice trembling.
"Mandy, I know you're sad, but you can't talk to me like that! He's dead now, and I'm the only man left on this island. Please believe me, without me, you can't hold out until the rescue team arrives." Leo was barely able to contain his smug smile. He stood up, putting on a boss-like demeanor.
Mandy snapped out of her grief and glared at Leo, questioning, "Leo! I don't believe Zack is dead. Tell me the truth! Where is he?!"
"Mandy, behave yourself! I'm talking to you nicely. What's with your attitude? You need to face it. That guy is dead, understand? If you don't believe it, go up the mountain and see for yourself! If the wolves bite you to death, you can go to hell and be with Zack!" A sinister glint flashed in Leo's eyes.
"Alright, everyone! Stop arguing. I believe Leo. How could he lie about something so serious!" Quinn stepped forward.
Quinn's gaze was very complicated. I could guess her thoughts. She thought I was dead. Although Leo was useless, he was the only man left, so she started to cozy up to him again.
My eyes grew colder.
"That's right! Please trust me. I'm way better than that punk!" Leo grabbed Quinn by the waist and laughed arrogantly. He was having the time of his life and getting more and more excited as he spoke.
"You're talking nonsense! You're nowhere near Zack!" Mandy couldn't hold back her anger anymore and slapped Leo.
Leo's eyes widened in disbelief.
"F*ck! How dare you hit me?" Leo rolled up his sleeves and grabbed Mandy by the neck.
Mandy, being a woman, couldn't match Leo's strength. She struggled but couldn't break free.
Leo grinned maliciously, "Say it again? You're Zack's woman, right? I'll f**k you today!"
My eyes turned blood red instantly, and my sanity snapped. I rushed in and punched Leo in the face.
Leo let go of Mandy in pain. Seeing my face, his expression changed as if he had eaten something disgusting.
"Za... Zack...?"
