I cursed inwardly.
He was over a hundred and twenty years old. He looked ancient beyond belief, usually moving slowly and needing help to walk. But just now, the speed and strength he displayed would put many young men to shame.
Luckily, my reflexes were still much faster than his. I dodged his attack, but because I had let my guard down, his knife still managed to graze my neck, leaving a shallow cut.
I nearly got killed by this old man?! Startled, I stepped back and kept a close eye on him.
"Old age has caught up with me. If this were a few years ago, you wouldn't have dodged that," the High Priest said, shaking his head in regret.
I honestly hadn't expected him to be so skilled. If he had been a few decades younger, he might have killed me just now.
