Despite the thick smoke making my eyes water, I could still clearly see it was Dumuh Khan. His lizard-like face broke into an exaggerated smile. To be honest, this guy was scary enough without a smile, but when he did smile, it was even more terrifying. His face alone could have given any kid nightmares.
Dumuh Khan grinned at me and said, "Hey, I'm here to rescue you!" As he spoke, he lifted his axe and chopped the chains binding me. I never thought he would risk breaking into prison to save me. Watching Dumuh Khan, I felt deeply moved.
I had always thought that the more people I met, the more I appreciated dogs since most people were selfish and protected themselves first in danger. But Dumuh Khan, despite being a lizardman, showed more nobility than many humans.
