At that dangerously close moment, my reflexes kicked in, and I quickly moved aside to dodge the monster's attack. But this creature didn't give up easily; its strikes came like pounding waves. When it failed to bite me, it swung its thick tail toward me.
Its tail was massive, and a hit would surely cause serious harm. Having just dodged its first attack, I had no time to escape the second. All I could do was raise my arms to shield my head, hoping to lessen the blow.
The tail's impact was more powerful than I imagined, sending me crashing into the tomb chamber's wall. The impact left a spiderweb of cracks in the stone. If the wall looked that bad, I knew I was in even worse shape.
Pain shot through me as if every bone inside had shattered, leaving me unable to move. If it weren't for my
