The crawling apes immediately let out enraged howls, rousing their slumbering companions. The small underwater cave was soon filled with their eerie cries. Moments later, they charged at us in a frenzy. "We need to go, now!" Jocelyn shouted, reacting first and starting to swim. We quickly followed behind her. Though we were swimming as fast as we could, we were no match for these aquatic creatures. As native water-dwellers, the crawling apes moved much faster than we could. Within seconds, a group of crawling apes blocked our path. "We've got to kill them! At least the ones in our way!" I yelled at them before launching into an attack. They followed suit, and the sound of gunfire echoed continuously in the water. But this time, the number of crawling apes attacking us was overwhelming,
