Brooklynn canceled all her clients for the day and instead, curled into the pillows on Dave’s couch and sipped her coffee. It disappeared pretty quickly, and she left the house to take Tantor back to the shelter. On her way back to Dave’s, she went through the drive-through at Brewed for fresh coffee, and she nursed that now, hoping to make it last until noon. She wasn’t sure why she didn’t want to leave, only that she didn’t. She wasn’t melancholy, but her thoughts felt frenzied in her mind.
