Brooklynn watched Dave walk out into the rain with all the confidence of a man who could battle the ocean and win. But she’d known another man like that, and he’d lost. Her soul raged the same way the storm did, and she spun away from the rain assaulting the glass doors. She would not let her tears run down her face the way the water did the windows.
