Chapter 3: Will you Marry me?

Andy had gone for the meeting to close down the business proposal on behalf of his sick dad. He arrived at a tall beautiful outstanding building, painted in gray faintly.

“The Cruz golden business associate,” the girl behind Him read out its branding.

It made Andy realize how everyone wishes to work in the company.

“ Sir Andy!” His father's secretary called.

Andy faced towards her direction

“Hey Alice,” he said while heading closer to her.

“Sir everyone is waiting for you inside.”

“Let's head inside then.”

“Yes sir”

He sighs

Andy walked inside the office where he met his father's business associates waiting for him.

“Mr Cruz.., we have been waiting for you,” one of the associates said.

“Am sorry to keep you waiting,” he apologized.

“Alright let's begin now,” random voices from behind.

“Sure,” Andy agreed.

The meeting began, Andy trying to put his focus on the discussion.

“ The investment should be quick.., as the company is at stake,” Andy emphasized.

“Alright.., that's reasonable, but how much will you invest Mr Cruz?” Asked Mr Steven, his father's trusted business partner.

“What about five million dollars?” Andy suggested.

“Five million?” Mr steven asked

“ Yes.., it's for the safety of the company, since it's facing low sales,” Andy answered.

“Alright then,” Mr Steven agreed.

The meeting was over and the agreement was clear among everyone. Andy had gone back home.

He entered the house looking light as he held his blue jacket in his hands.

Door closed

“ Dad!..., Mom!” Andy called.

“ Andy!.., you are back son?” Asked his mom from upstairs.

He followed her upstairs and they mate outside the room to his bedroom.

“How is Dad?” He asked

“ Look behind you,”

Andy looked back and saw his dad standing upright.

“Dad,” he said faintly after looking at him.

“How come?.., you are standing?” He asked, looking surprised.

“Yes, I am well now son,” his father replied.

Andy looked at him in an emotional way with tears almost coming out of his eyes. It was a beautiful dream to him. He hugged him strongly and tightly.

“I can't believe this…, dad, can you stand?” He continued hugging him.

“ Son, I told you that I am a fighter.., and that is why I want you to be like me,” his father said.

“Alright, alright, alright.., dinner is served!” Said his mom from behind.

They went downstairs for dinner, Andy had nothing to worry about and so his face was covered with joy while eating on the dinner table.

“ Son,” his father called while holding a fork in his right hand.

“ Yes dad,” he answered.

His mom faced the north as she wore her sleepers comfortably.

“ Where is she?” His dad asked.

Andy was confused.

“ who?” He answered.

“ What's her name again?..” his father stammered.

“ Liya!” His mom helped.

“ Yes Liya,” his dad said.

“Ah.., dad don't worry I will bring her, I just want to talk to her about the marriage” said Andy.

“Alright, but be quick,” his dad emphasized.

It was a free to hear night everyone went to sleep in their pajamas not thinking about anything to bother them. Andy in his thoughts was thinking about the day that was coming by, he couldn't believe that everything was okay between him and Liya.

5am early in the morning he couldn't wait but grabbed his heart and woke up, he had every reason to see the day.

On the other side Liya was preparing everything she had for her little sister Lucy to go to school, the day was so normal as usual everything was pink and bright.

“Liya, is Mr Andy sir, stopping by?” Lucy asked

“Yes he is coming.., why do you ask? Liya replied while helping her comb her hair.

“ Nothing, just tell him to stay for lunch today.., he is lucky I will not be around!” Lucy said while nodding her head.

“Can you stop nodding your head!” Liya yelled at her.

Lucy sighs.

“ Good morning!.., is anyone at home?” Annie's voice from downstairs.

Liya and Lucy heard the voice of Annie from downstairs. they clearly knew it was her voice and they went downstairs to welcome her.

“Oh my God, you are just lucky Auntie Annie,” said Lucy.

“Why do you say that, Lucy?” Annie asked.

“ Because we were about to leave for school, '' Lucy replied.

“Oh.., yeah I knew, that is why I came so early so that you people won't leave without me,” Annie said jokingly.

Liya sighs

“Can we go now?” Liya asked.

car approaching.

They all headed outside trying to see who had come to visit them so early in the morning as it was unusual. It was a brown car. Definitely Liya had recognized it.

“Mr Andy sir!” Lucy called while running towards the car.

“ Hey Lucy!..,hi Annie.., my love,” Andy said gently.

“ Good morning my love,” Liya greeted back as Annie was quiet.

It was running late for Lucy to go to school and she realized she was going to be late if she wasn't taken to school at that time. Annie's jealousy was obvious in her eyes she couldn't bear the pain of seeing the man she was falling in love looking at another woman deeply into her eyes.

“ Lucy will be late for school,” said Annie out of nowhere.

“What if my driver drops her off?” Andy suggested.

“ Why don't we all go together?” Said Annie.

“ Ah.., I don't think so because I have something important to tell Liya,” Andy said.

“Something important?” Liya asked.

“ Yes, but she's running late for class,”said Andy.

Andy ordered his driver to drop her off at school because she was running really late for her class and it was almost 8am.the driver started off and the journey began, Liya, Andy and Annie were left together at the house.

“Coffee?” Liya suggested.

“ Ah.., no am okay, just have something to tell you.”

“ Should I leave you two to talk?” Annie asked.

“ No, it's not necessary,” Andy replied.

and so they all sat on the brown chair in the flower garden as usual.

Andy knelt down on his knees beside Liya and took out the ring from his pocket. Liya covered her mouth with her hands in shock and Annie was almost speechless.

“ From the day I met you, I knew you were what I wanted. It has become a normal thing for my heart to sing melodies of love. you are the one that brightens my day and living my life without you would be living in hell.., my happiness would be hindered and my joy will be taken away from me if you Leave. I promise to hunt you like a ghost if you leave but from now on, I want you to be beside me forever. Liya Williams, will you marry me?” Andy proposed.

Liya made no answer for seconds. tears were coming out from her eyes , thinking about what she had gone through, being the only person to take care of her sister after the tragedy that happened in their family, that took off her parent’s ability to breathe, it was all memories that were never forgotten.

“ Yes, I will marry you Andy,”she replied emotionally.

Not more than 5 seconds of celebrating Andy's phone rang and it was one of his father's associates that was calling.

He answered the call.

There was a meeting setup because one of the associates had found a company in which they should invest.

“ Am really sorry, I have an emergency,” Andy said rushingly.

“Wait.What happened my love?” Liya asked shockingly.

“ There is an emergency meeting at the company,”he said while holding her hands to make her understand.

“ No problem Andy, you will find us here,” said Annie out of the blue.

“Sure, you will find us,” Liya approved.

“ I will be back as soon as the meeting ends,” Andy promised.

“ Bye!, take care,” said Liya.

Andy moved closer to her and hugged her passionately.

“ Take care my love!Take care Annie!” He left.

Annie and Liya were left with a surprise, they didn't know that Andy would propose marriage to her in such a way. With nothing left to do they decided to practice music, as the contest was around the corner.

“I can't explain how happy I am today, I'm very happy..Come on, it's like a dream,” Liya said while holding her friend's hands.

“I'm happy for you Liya, you don't know how happy I am for you..,you deserve everything.” Annie replied and hugged her.

“Thank you so much Annie.”

“Can I ask you a question, Liya?”

“Sure,” she answered.

“look, I do not know much things about the heart but I would like you to explain to me what love is all about.., if you don't mind?”

“Annie, love is sacrifice, pain, endurance and you do not have to give up because of one thing that caused you to fight.., you have to listen more as a woman.” Liya explained.

“what if there is more than two people involved in a relationship.., ah..,what I mean to say is that if there is a person who doesn't want your relationship to go well what would you do?” Annie asked.

“If such things happen that is where you have to fight, remember Annie fight for what you love.., giving up is not a treatment for your heart that will remain in pain, you'll be on that corner crying and crying nobody will understand you and someday you will realize that fighting is the key.” Liya said emotionally.

“Alright alright, enough with the emotions it's almost late let's Begin our practice.”

Annie's phone rang.the phone number saved as dill popped up on the screen.

“Excuse me Liya, let me answer the call,” Annie said.

“Alright”

She went far away from the flower garden, and answered the call.

“Are you ready for the dill?” Annie said when she answered the call.

“ Sure madam,” the man’s voice on the call.

“One million, remember one.. million!If anything goes wrong, don't mention my name!.., you hear me?” Annie emphasized.

“ Yes madam,” the man's voice from the call.

“Be ready!” Annie said.

“Okay madam.”

“ Good!”

“Be ready?” Liya's voice from behind.

“Liya..How long have you been standing there?” Annie asked fearly.

“Just now, why do you look stressed?..Is anything bothering you Annie?” Liya asked.

“ No, am perfectly fine.”

“Alright, it's almost 1pm, the end of Lucy's class.., I have to go and get her”

“Let's use my car,” Annie suggested.

“Yes,” Liya agreed.

“ Perfect,” Annie in her thoughts.

They went and reached.

“ Wait, I can't see Lucy,” Annie said.

“She's probably coming.., you know how slow she writes, she has been punished am sure,” Liya said.
