It was now two weeks living with Sierra under the same roof. The house was warm and the atmosphere very lively. The effect it had on Brian could not be understated. He was no longer as reserved as he used to be and occasionally I would manage to ruffle his hair and he wouldn’t react unless I did so a second time.
Brian was the main reason I wasn’t pursuing Sierra as much as possible. I was putting his interest first. The way the two related one would be confused as to whether they were siblings. Sierra had assured me that I shouldn’t worry about her stealing Brian away. Not that I would complain because I could see she cared for Brian just as well and if I played my cards right then Brian would be the foot in the doorway to Sierra.
