Amy’s POV By the time I get home, my entire body feels like a storm waiting to explode. My chest is heavy, my head throbs, and my throat burns from choking back tears all the way here. The house is silent when I step inside, and it’s almost suffocating. I don’t even bother turning on the lights as I make my way to the bedroom. I just want to crawl under the covers and disappear, to hide from the image of Kael’s soft, protective expression as he helped her into his car.
