Chapter two: The walk home

880 Words
Campus finally ended for the day, I was so glad day one went so perfectly. On my way to the supermarket to buy a few things for my little apartment. I thought back on today. I made a friend, I thought happily about Diane and how sweet she was to me. Then I thought about Zain. I feel my cheeks blush everytime I think about or mention him. Sweet ol' butterflies to my stomach. I rush into the supermarket grab a few groceries and toiletries, pay and leave. On the way home, I notice it getting abit dark. "Oh no!" I sigh. The way home is rather dodgey, pass an alley I need to go. As I was low on money, I rented an apartment a few blocks from campus but the route home was dangerous. I'm not sure I have the appetite to go on walking through this path alone. I was so terrified, so I speedily walked home. Pretending to be on the phone with someone. Alas! I walk through the most dangerous part of my walk back home, full groceries in my heavy bags. Suddenly I come across a group of people living down the alley, around a make shift fire, warming themselves and drinking. While they were engaged in conversation, singing and being merry. I try to slip through them unnoticed. My efforts were in vain. "Sweet pretty little thing" one screams. "We see you hot mama" another adds. "Come join us, we have *loads* for you!" another exclaims. Trying so hard to hold back tears, while being extremely terrified. I try to run away but 2 of them get infront of me and one behind, stopping me from leaving. The guy infront, fully tatted with piercings and atleast 3 times my size, intimidates me by taking my grocery bags gently placing them on the floor, then cupping my face with his hands says "It's not wise to be walking alone so late at night, why are you out? Let me walk you home". I could tell his sleazy nature and personality wanted to try the unthinkable with me. I tried so hard not think what the outcome of tonight would be, it was my first day here after all. I fought hard against them touching me inappropriately on my waist, hips and against the wall. I eventually managed to slip away while bleeding from my hands and face which they cut open for my defiance and ran straight into a woods that was just nearby. I kept running and running. They kept chasing, the further I ran the closer I could hear their voices get till eventually we were so deep into the woods I didn't know where I was or what direction to go in. I hid behind a tree in the darkness hoping they would pass me. My heart in my hand. Hand on my chest. Crying. Praying for a miracle to save me. I didnt want this happening to me. Fear overcame me when suddenly I let out a screech due to the tears. I feel a hand from behind me, accompanied by the most evil laugh I have ever heard. In that moment. I lost all sense of hope. I was alone in the woods with 7 thugs having evil intentions surrounding me. "What should I do?" I kept pushing and hitting at them with no effect, till finally all of my clothes were out and I was lying vulnerable on the ground. They were helping themselves to me. My body froze laying lifeless on the ground just waiting to feel the pain of them between my legs as this would be the first time I would ever have someone between my legs. About to pass out from humiliation, pain and anxiety, I see through my half shut, barely open eyes, almost unconscious a familiar figure swiftly landing on the ground from jumping off the tree. "Back away from her slowly" he demands in a deep but charming tone. As i drift off into unconsciousness i barely see this mysterious guy not allowing them to touch me further or r**e me. He shoved them off and beat them to pulp. The last thing I saw before I felt safe enough to allow my body to fully pass out instead of fighting to stay awake, I gave into my unconsciousness. Unconscious? or just barely in my senses, I feel him pick up my lifeless body put my clothes back on or what's left of it anyway, and cover me with his jacket. He then carries me in his arms not allowing my head to take anymore damage and carefully walks me out of the woods. I know we're out of the woods when he picks up my grocery bags while still holding me gently and continues to walks. I squirm abit due to pain. "Are you okay?" He asks. "Hmm" I reply without even knowing whats being asked correctly. I sense a smile on his face due to the scoff he makes next, as he picks up the pace to take me home? I pray. I feel so safe and at peace. His smell is intoxicating. I think to myself while barely even being able to think. I soon fall fully unconsciousness.
