OTTAWA, ONTARIO — TUESDAY, JUNE 23, 2122 HOURS (EST)The prime minister and his wife were entertaining the Kralicks at 24 Sussex Drive, an impressive three-story gray stone mansion situated on a bluff above the Ottawa River. It was a pleasant summer evening in the Canadian capital. The French doors off the dining room were open. The air was calm, the sky partially overcast to the west. The sun was about to set. Overhead, jetliner vapor trails could be seen through a large gap in the clouds, over thirty thousand feet up, coming out of, perhaps, Toronto or Chicago or Detroit, and heading east to Europe. A motorboat roared over the river towards Hull on the Quebec side.
