Chapter two RCAF STATION DIXON, ALBERTA — 0851 HOURS (1051 EST)From a vantage point outside an operational hangar, Flight Lieutenant Bogdan Kapolski watched the CF-100 fighter-interceptors from B-Flight practicing circuits and bumps. The top-notch group could touch and go with precision. A cold wind whistled down from the north, almost right through Kapolski’s RCAF jacket. It had to be ten below zero Fahrenheit. The clean, white snow, freshly plowed only hours before and piled off the runways and taxi strips, glinted in the sunlight as Kapolski slipped his fur-lined hood over his head.
