If people have a problem with you, always remember, it is THEIR problem~ROLEX Artemis... Once I got to Texas with the suitcase Uncle Jim had packed for me, I was met with his sister, who looked somewhat different. Her makeup seemed to be done by a child, and so were her clothes. The first thing she did was take the money Uncle Jim had given me and my fake passport. "I'll get rid of this so it doesn't come back to me," she said, causing me to nod in understanding. "Well Lia, I hope you're a hard worker like my brother said you were because you'll be working at my bar. I do not host freelancers, so you'll have to work to remain here. Do you understand me?" "Yes, ma'am," I replied, straightening my back. "Call me madam K not ma'am. I am not your mother, am I?" "No madam K" I replied, shaking my head. Angering madam K isn't on my to-do list. "Good, let's go," Madam K said before leaving me to struggle with my suitcase while I followed her to what was supposed to be a car, which I was reluctant to get into. Once I managed to push my suitcase in the trunk, I pushed myself into the car and tried buckling myself in when I realized the loss of a seatbelt. I am screwed. *** The drive to her bar was very uncomfortable because madam K kept farting, which my throat had to suffer from. Once we got to the bar, it looked dangerous like it was about to crumble down. There were some dangerous people scattered around the bar and doing what most people would consider illegal. The inside looked even worse because the bar was filled with these dangerous looking people, and the place seemed to be bustling. At least, business looked good. Madam K escorted to me what was supposed to be living quarters, which was beside the bar. She showed me my room and informed me about Celine, who was supposed to show me around before leaving. Time to settle in. *** I was right. Uncle Jim got me new clothes so now I have three pairs of jeans, five T-shirts and two dresses. He even bought me a pair of sneakers and some beauty supplies. Though there was still enough space in the wardrobe, I was still grateful to have clothes to wear. There was a knock on the door, causing me to stand up from the bed. I opened the door to find a young girl. She was very pretty, and her blonde hair was up in a ponytail. She was holding a bundle of clothes, and something told me this was Celine. She made her way into my room and dumped the bundle of clothes on my bed. "Madam K asked me to show you around. These are your work clothes, " Celine said, pointing at the bundle of clothes on my bed. "Come on, I have to show you around," she said, making me follow her out. "First lesson, always lock your room. We have thieves here. " ********** "Next we have s*x on the beach" To be sincere, being a waitress was better than being a barmaid. Names of certain drinks made heat to rise up to my cheeks from my neck. It wasn't as easy as I had imagined, but I could do this. I wasn't going to end up on the street. "And also give every tips you make to Madam K. If you don't, you might end up like Alec, " said Celine, making me scrunch my eyebrows in confusion. "Alec was the former barman. He disrespected Madam K by keeping the tips he made, and now he's missing, " Celine said, making my eyes grow wide in fear. She continued, "Everyone knows she's responsible, but no one really cares. The last sheriff's office we had was burnt down by some thugs so we can't really tell the police plus this town is nicknamed 'Trash' because of the number of criminals that live here Be careful, Lia. A guy touches your boobs or ass, ignore him. They'll be too drunk to remember you, plus your uniform is there to protect your identity. " Celine stared at the clock and then at me again. "I have to go prepare for my show tonight. Good luck, Lia. " And with that, she was gone.
