Chapter Nine Sierra slipped from bed before the alarm went off the following morning. She hadn’t slept well. Even though she’d dropped off to sleep not too long after her head hit the pillow, she’d awaken just after five. She blamed the wine but she knew it was thoughts of Phoenix that kept her awake. He could be stubborn but he could also admit when he was wrong. Just when she’d been ready to write him off as shallow, he’d surprised her. The man wasn’t as superficial as she’d assumed. Not only was she physically attracted to him, she’d actually begun to like him. She thought of the glimpses into his life that he had allowed her the previous evening. Apparently, even before the accident, his life was far from perfect. God knew it was easier for her to think of him as pampered and spoile
