Chapter Ten
“Going for your walk?” Phoenix asked the following evening as Sierra laced up her shoes. She had changed into shorts and he took the opportunity to admire her toned legs.
“That’s right. I won’t be gone long.”
Since their lunch the day before, Phoenix hadn’t had a moment alone with her. Adam was always with them on the deck in the mornings and he was in the room with them now. Three had definitely become a crowd.
“Do you mind if I go with you?’
Sierra blinked in surprise. “For a walk on the beach?”
“Isn’t that where you walk?” he asked slowly.

In exasperation, Phoenix asked, “Do I need to get his permission?”
“No, I just wanted to be sure that Adam thought it was a good idea.”
