Chapter Eleven
Phoenix certainly had undergone a transformation since his arrival in Seaside more than two months earlier. It was well into summer now, the heat outside almost intolerable even with the ocean’s breeze. But he hadn’t used that as an excuse to ease up on his rehabilitation efforts. Despite his grueling daily workouts with Adam, he walked on the beach with Sierra each evening.
Even more noticeable than his physical transformation were his emotional and spiritual ones. He appeared to have discovered a sense of purpose and seemed at peace with his situation. During the day, he could be found out and about in the resort, greeting guests or fraternizing with his employees.
