AXEL “I don’t know about Shayna's Dad, but as for me, I have to say that if this paternity test is done and Axel doesn't turn out to be the father, then, please you guys shouldn’t blame me too. Because I'm not even sure if she’s pregnant. For all I know this could be another of her schemes to stir up trouble,” Shayna’s mom said much to everyone's surprise. At least someone in her family had a conscience. “Mom!! How can you say that? I'm your child you're supposed to back me up,” Shayna angrily yelled and her mom scoffed in response. “And if you aren't pregnant or the child isn't mine, what should be done to you Shayna?” I asked her and she began to stutter and scratch the back of her head. “Well, to be honest, I'm not sure you're the father either,” She said with much difficulty and flinched when her Dad yelled at her. “You brought us here to embarrass us?” Shayna’s Dad thundered. My parents had unhappy looks on their faces because things weren't going their way anymore. All their hopes of using Shayna’s pregnancy as a yardstick to separate Diana and I were now crushed. “I’m sorry for the inconvenience she has caused you and I plead with you to please forgive her,” Shayna’s Dad said to me. I looked at Diana and she nodded at me. Understanding what Diana meant by her nod, I turned to Shayna and her family. “For your sake, I would forgive her but she has to apologize to my mate for her insulting words from earlier,” I said with finality. “There is no need for her to apologize because what she said was the truth. We all know that your so-called mate dresses like a grandma,” My mom said, making my jaw harden. Shayna and her parents left after that without Shayna apologizing and this enraged me. “I won’t stand here and watch you both disrespect my mate. I'm moving out of this house. After all, I've been planning to for a while now,” I thundered. “I forbid you from doing that. If you do that I will disown you,” My father sneered. “I don't care. It's like you still take me as a child. I am 28 and you both better start treating me as such. After all, I have never felt like your child because you never treated me like one. But I want to let you know that the Alpha position is mine whether you disown me or not,” I yelled. They always loved to piss me off. “Never!! I will step down for Sebastian. He will be the next Alpha. Since you have chosen to go against my orders, your cousin will be the next Alpha,” He said coldly, making me clench my fist. “Honey!! Why would you say that? Axel is your Son,” My mom exclaimed in protest but my Dad raised his hand signaling for her to keep quiet. “My decision is final. Since my son won't obey me, then he isn't fit to be Alpha. So I will make Sebastian Alpha instead,” He said with finality. It was a big insult to me for my Dad to say Sebastian would be the Alpha instead of me because Sebastian was an arrogant weakling who only cared about which girl he was going to f**k next. He and I never got along because of that character. My father knew this and I guess that's why he said he would make Sebastian the Alpha instead. I knew what he was playing at. He wanted to rile me up. He wanted me to come back begging him but if that meant rejecting Diana then I wasn't going to. I decided that I would challenge Sebastian for the Alpha position instead and I knew I would win because like I said Sebastian was a weakling and he never trained to fight. “See you at the swearing-in ceremony tonight,” I said to my parents and smirked because I knew I was going to be victorious. Then I turned to Diana. “Let’s get out of here,” I said to her, then I held her hands and led her to my room, leaving my parents there. When we got into my room, I took out my phone and called Victoria, my P.A. I had the biggest and fastest-growing real estate company in all packs so I was self-made and didn't need my parent’s wealth. The only reason why I hadn't moved out of our family house was because of Mrs Belkov, our head maid who raised me since I was a child. “Vicky, I need to book a moving company and tell them to come to my family house right now,” I instructed her. “Consider it done Sir,” She said and the call ended. “Why are you always rude and disrespectful to your parents?” Diana asked me after I was done talking to Victoria. “You won’t understand,” Was all I said to her. “About the Vasectomy, I wanted to tell you that it can be reversed but I don't think I would want to because I want to be the last of my parent's lineage,” I said. “Why?” She asked me softly. I was surprised to see how calm and collected she was after hearing what I just said because I thought she would flare up. “Because I don't want my parents to see their grandchildren, not like they would care about them anyway. They only care about themselves,” I answered and my jaw hardened when I recalled how my parents treated me since childhood. Ever since I took my first steps as a child, they never ate with me. I had my dining table and never ate with them. I ate alone while my parents ate with themselves. I could always hear their laughter whenever I ate because their dining room was just the room after mine and thus broke my heart. It made me feel alone. They never gave me attention. Even on my first day at school, it was Mrs Belkov who went with me. It got to the extent that I had to ask around if I was my parent’s real child. And sadly I was. My mom carried me in her womb for nine months and gave birth to me. Diana sighed and was about to say something when her phone began to ring. “Sorry, I have to take this. It’s our maid at home that’s calling,” She said and I nodded, giving her the go-ahead to pick up the call. After Diana picked up the call, a few seconds later, she passed out.
