CHAPTER 3

Lunette's Pov I sat on the stool with a towel wrapped around my body. I applied lotion on my body and it was time for make-up. I decided to go with a dark feminine make up. I grew up with rules to follow. Constantly being cautious even when it wasn't necessary, but that changes now. It's time to be reckless, daring and selfish. Being good caused me more harm. It's just a lot of trouble. My phone rang. It was a text from Maya. "Hey girl, I'm close to your apartment. Hurry up." It was time for the masterpiece of the night. The new dress and shoes I bought, which I intended to wear on a date with Dorian. My reason for going to the club was for one reason. Have fun. Lots of it. I don't have anything planned out but anything to forget my predicament, will do. I unwrapped the towel, and wore the cute shimmering red dress. It hugged my body perfectly. I oiled the excess skin that was on display. After that, I wore silver heels and jewelry. HONK!!! Maya had arrived. I stared at my reflection in the mirror and I was impressed. Turning heads wasn't the only mission after all. I stepped out and locked the door. "Damn girl!" Maya's jaw dropped and I winked at her playfully. "Close your mouth Maya and thanks. You look good too," I chuckled. Maya wore a black leather dress. She was really gorgeous. "It's a pity I've never met your mum. Her genes are wonderful." She hit the steering wheel, and I nodded. My smile slowly faded at the mention of my mother. What they did was still fresh in my memory. Choosing to go to the club wasn't a bad idea after all. "Let's go. We don't want to be late" I urged and she nodded and started driving. "I'm surprised you agreed to come with me to the club today. Weren't you supposed to be all lovey dovey with your perfect boyfriend?" She smirked. Unintentionally, her words sounded like mockery to me. Perfect? Lovey dovey? I squeezed my hands tightly and out of the window. "Hey, did I say something?" Maya asked quietly. I shook my head and breathed out, "I broke up with him." Suddenly, she stepped on the brake and we jolted forward. Thank God for the seatbelts. "Huh? I'm not sure I heard that correctly." I rolled my eyes and bit my inner cheek. Silence filled the car. "Wait. What? Is it true?" She gasped. "You just returned from visiting your parents and the last time I checked, you guys were still good. So what went wrong?" I rested my head on my hand and closed my eyes. "I caught him cheating." A louder gasp tore from her lips. "What the hell? How dare that bastard cheat on you after everything?" Silence. "I can never understand men," she scoffed. I felt her eyes boring holes into the side of my face but I didn't bother to look at her. "Bestie, I'm sorry that you had to go through all that alone. Let's go to the club and this time don't take it easy on any man." With that she resumed driving. Slowly, I opened my eyes. Don't take it easy on any man? I never planned to! After thirty minutes, we arrived at LUXE Exclusive Club. The place screamed luxury, class and lust. "I forgot to ask but how were you able to get the tickets?" I asked Maya. "I have my ways," she grinned and I nodded with a sly smirk. Soon, Maya and I were inside. The music blared, threatening to destroy my eardrums but I was used to it. "Let's enjoy ourselves." Maya announced but her gaze was focused on somewhere else. I followed her gaze. She and a tattooed-up man were flirting with their eyes. "See you later and take care of yourself," she pecked my cheek and walked away. Right. Now, I'm all alone. As I walked by, everyone stopped what they were doing and turned to stare at me. I took my time to sway my hips effortlessly. "Hello," I cooed. The bartender raised his head and looked at me. I broke the stare after a minute, pretending not to notice how his breath hitched. He didn't say anything but gawked. "I'd like to have a bloody Mary," I ordered and snapped my fingers in front of his face. He opened his mouth to talk but couldn't get the words, so he just nodded. With a shaky hand, he grabbed a glass but it slipped from his hand. I looked away from him. Too bad, not a single man had caught my eyes since I came in. "You..your drink," I looked at the bartender's tag. "Thank you Ian," I said in a low voice and downed the drink at a go. I slammed the glass down in front of him. "Another one." He continued to serve the drinks. In no time, everywhere was spinning. I've always been a light drinker. Despite the music, I was getting bored, so I walked to the dance floor. I sipped from my sixth glass and danced. I traced my hand down my body slowly. The others cheered. "Hello, beautiful" an old man stood by my side but with one finger I pushed him away. I was desperate to forget my problems but never again will I settle for less. I could feel someone's gaze on me as I danced but I couldn't tell who it was. I searched the crowd but nothing. My throat became dry and I gulped down the drink at a go. Irritated that the mysterious man was having an effect on me against my will. I sighed and scrunched my nose, still searching until I looked up. My tensed muscles relaxed and my lips tugged into a sly smirk. A hot looking man was staring at me. Definitely older. Goosebumps crept onto my skin. His aura was intimidating but that excited me. The alcohol had definitely kicked in but I wanted him!
