Chapter 7

Demetrius “Well it looks like our attempt at a lovely dinner has come to an end, why don’t I walk you back to your room.” She stands from her chair continuing to glare at me. If I didn’t need her I’d snap her neck right now and send her head back to my lovely twin brothers descendants whom he tried so hard to keep from me. I gesture for her to walk to the door. “What no cuffs?” “I don’t believe I’d be needing those in order to keep you in check.” She rolls her eyes then walks to the door with me following closely behind her. Within that short amount of time attempting to have dinner it’s occurred to me that she is a lot more feisty than her Aunt was. Her Aunt was like the sun, she’d make all clouds disappear from sight and brighten up my world. Where as her niece makes me want to rain down on all of her loved ones. Our walk back to her room is silent, I can only imagine all of the things going on in her head. She’s probably thinking about how she’s going to drive us mad, how she’s going to escape etcetera, etcetera. “Here we are, thank you for making this walk much easier than I thought it would be. It isn’t too hard to fall in line now is it?” I say from behind her, she doesn’t look my way. “Open the door” she replies through gritted teeth. “You should learn to use your manners.” “Open. The f*****g. Door.” I grab her by her waist spinning her to me, slamming her up against the wall. With one hand digging into her hip and the other holding her face tightly. “I have had quite enough of your attitude tonight. You will learn to obey me and you will do so quickly” I slowly dig my claws into her. Hear eyes start to tear up but I know she will never listen to my directions no matter how much pain I were to put her in. I’d put it down to her arrogant Alpha genes. Instead of continuing with the back and forth bickering I open her room door and throw her in before slamming it. She could quite possibly be the most difficult person I’ve had to deal with in a long time. Saving me some time from walking these halls I use my Hybrid speed to get me to my office quickly. “Master” my two guards standing outside of my door say bowing their heads. I nod to them before walking through the large double doors. I pour myself a glass of my oldest and finest whiskey, not that it can intoxicate me, however, I’ve come to enjoy the taste of it. As I’m sitting at my desk sipping on my drink I pull my top drawer open to pull out the frame that holds the only photo I have left of the woman who will always have my heart. “I swear to you my love, they will all pay for years to come. Quick deaths will be far too merciful. As every new generation grows they will already know that one day during their lives I will come for them one way or another to turn their lives upside down, just as their predecessors did to our lives. This I promise to you.” I whisper tracing my finger over the outline of her face. Suddenly a knock on the door brings me out of my thoughts. “You may enter” I call, in walks Violetta and General Rehor. “That little b***h! I’m going to kill her!” Violetta yells. “Shh” I put my hand up to quieten her. She has quite the temper which makes her a force to be reckoned with. I also know that her feelings towards me are more than just the feeling of being allies but the feeling isn’t mutual. But I’ll keep her around as long as she continues to serve a purpose. “Don’t tell me you fancy her?!” Violetta yells at me which infuriates me, how dare she. “I do not, however, even if I did, that would be of no concern to you!” I snap at her, she bows her head. “My apologies, I was out of line.” “Indeed you were. Now, please take a seat. Before we get down to the matter at hand regarding our little test subject. General, how is our army coming along?” “Of the 2000 trainees 90 percent of them have passed the tests we had set out for them” he says removing his mask. “And what of the other 10 percent?” “I killed them” he says with an emotionless face. “Of course you did...” I truly have created a monster liken to myself, although at times I think even he has less of a soul than I do. Which could make sense considering. “And why wasn’t I informed of your decision to kill them? You didn’t even give me a chance to work on them” Violetta snaps at him. “Maybe if you left your living quarters a bit more you could’ve had the chance. But it seems you don’t like to be anywhere but in there and besides I don’t think I need to keep you informed on anything when it comes to the soldiers under my command” he replies to her. “I am the one who made you what you are, I put you into the position that you’re in today and I could so easily be the one to remove you from it” she hisses at him. “Try as you might, Violetta. But we both know you won’t.” “That’s quite enough bickering between you two. Violetta, nobody will be removing anybody from their positions. And for future reference, General, please allow, Violetta, the chance to work on any of those who you deem unfit to be a soldier.” The two of them nod their heads in agreement. “And what about you,Violetta? I understand your powers have been draining a bit more than we’d like so have you found any solutions?” “I do, I have someone who is in the country for a while and I plan on meeting with her in order to strengthen myself and my magic.” “When will that be exactly?” “Well first I need to regain her trust so it’s going to take a bit of time.” “Regain her trust? That would mean you have history with this person and not the good kind.” “Uh yes but I’m sure she’ll come around.” “And who is she?” “Wh-what?” She visibly tenses at my question. “Who. Is. She?” “My Mother” she averts her eyes from me. “Violetta, do you really think it’s wise to mix family with business?” “Shouldn’t you be asking yourself that? After all what we’re going to be doing is of the same sort, is it not?” “Very well, I’ll leave that to you.” “I will not fail you” she says. “Now for our current... situation. I understand your frustrations after tonight, believe me I know. She is not quite what I expected. She is indeed infuriating but if we let her get to us the more she will continue to do it. So I have put some plans in place and have come to the decision that instead of prolonging the process of our plans we will begin tomorrow. The faster we get this done, the faster we can get rid of her. The Doctor and his team of experts will be over in the morning to begin.”
