Mallory quietly left the room, leaving them to enjoy their reunion. She stepped outside, taking the pancakes her brother held out to her.
Danae was also outside. “I’ve put the first batch of herbal tea into a waterskin Loral gave me and have put a second batch on. I can stay here and keep an eye on it if you want to visit the hunter and see what he needs done.”
“I’ll come with you,” Brodie offered.
In the end, only Ninette and Danae remained behind, the rest of them walking to the hunter’s home, finishing up the rest of the pancakes Brodie had brought with him as they walked.
Brodie finished his mouthful. “There’s more pancakes at Loral’s house. I should have brought more of them with me.”
The hunter opened the door on the first knock. “I was wondering when you’d get back.”
