The Speedsters were also called night bloods because of the black pigment their blood possessed. What a lot of people didn't know about Speedsters was that they were humans.
So they could go to normal hospitals and get treated so far as their blood wasn't involved-which was sadly rare. Speedsters (or night bloods as some called it) were advanced humans,the next generation still living amongst the old ones.
