"You see things so much differently than I do," she said. "But you see them now?" "Yes, I think I do." "She haunts me no more, my love" he said. "Oh, her memory I cannot banish from me. But the power she had over me, that obsessive darkness, that brooding that kept me here for so many years, that kept me from making a new life – that is gone. I know that as surely, as I know that you love me still. I don't ask for answers now, or commitments, or even making love.
