“And I was so glad to see you alive,” he said. “I’m not used to hurting the way I did.” “And I’m not used to caring,” Kelly replied. They weren’t used to awkward moments of the heart, but they were finally ready for this one. “I guess we both have a lot to figure out,” Tad said. “Maybe we could figure it out together?” She smiled at him and then snuggled close. Wrapping an arm around him, she tucked her head into his chest. She wholeheartedly agreed with him, but she wasn’t quite ready to say so. She’d tell him later. For the moment she simply liked the fact that she could feel his heart beating next to hers, and that they were so close she could smell the aroma of coffee on his breath, and feel the way her body liked their cozy fit.
