Monday arrived faster than Ronda wanted it to. She had spent most of Sunday preparing for it. Her clothes were arranged before she went to bed. Her bag was packed. She had checked the address of the new unit twice, even though she already knew it. She had gone through the orientation email so many times that she could almost recite the details. None of that stopped her from waking before her alarm. She opened her eyes and stared at the ceiling. For a few seconds, she forgot. Then she remembered. Today was the day. Ronda sat up slowly. There was a strange feeling in her chest. Not panic exactly. Anticipation. She looked toward the chair where her clothes were waiting. "This is happening," she whispered.
