Chapter 11
Haa... Haa... Haa...
As I try to catch my breath, I wake up in a dark and empty place...
What exactly is this place? What am I doing here?
I looked around, but the darkness blinded me, and the silence was deafening...
Every breath I took was felt all over the place... My heartbeat could be heard pounding like a drum...
Where am i? Why can't I see a thing? What is this place?
All I could do was scrounge around, looking for something to touch and praying to get out of this dark and frightening place. But I'm not sure why; no matter what I do, I'm not moving. I tried yelling for help, but nothing came out of my throat. I could feel goosebumps flowing into my skin as a result of the cold environment, which added to my fear.
I'm terrified... I'm not sure where I am, and I'm even less sure how to get out of here...
I forced myself to run again, praying to get out of the terrifying place when a light flashed through my closed eyes. I slowly open my eyes and see a very beautiful and spacious garden full of different colored roses. The butterflies that land on its petals are especially appealing to the eye. I smiled as I began to walk seeing the beautiful scenery which feels weird for me to be able to do now. I ignored it and looked around the place. I feel like I'm in paradise...
I happily wandered around the area, smelling the flowers' fragrance, until I came across a stream. I felt the dryness in my throat so I began to move towards it.
The water is so clear that you can almost see the rocks beneath it. I couldn't stop bending down to get a drink when a human image appeared in the water's reflection. I sat down in shock, not expecting anyone else to be there, and apologized, 'I'm sorry, I didn't know there was anyone else here,' but I received no response.
I was also taken aback by the fact that I could finally speak, and I wondered what was going on. I bowed once more in the water when the image reappeared, 'Hi! ' I greeted. But i find it odd that the image moves and opens her mouth every time I move. I tried talking to her several times, but she just imitated me. Then I noticed her white dress and realized that the image I was seeing was none other than myself.
I look once more at my reflection in the water. I couldn't help but smile, cupping my cheeks. Is it inappropriate to admire oneself?
"Oh my god! Doc! He's awake!" A woman's voice echoed throughout the place; making me look around, expecting to see someone, but there is no one to be seen. 'Hi! Where have you gone? 'I began to inquire, but, as was the case on the stream, I received no response.
"It's a miracle," says another voice. I tried to talk to her, but it's as if they aren't hearing my every scream.
"Call the young master and inform him that she has awakened," the voice continued to echo, until the place gradually began to spin, absorbing strong forces emanating from a large and white circle.
I tried to find something to cling to, but everything was covered in flowers. I was drawn by a strong force towards the white circle that absorbed the flesh of the place; I tried to hold on, but the force was so strong that I couldn't.
"Finally, you're awake." This was the last line I heard before being sucked in by a powerful force.
White appeared in front of me after a few moments.
Am I dead? Was it just a dream? Is this the reason I can't walk or talk? Is it because I don't have a life anymore? But why do I feel pain in my body if I'm dead?
Still feeling the pain, I tried to turn around and saw women in white pacing the room, hurrying their every move. I looked around and noticed the structure's contents. The room is white and wooden. It doesn't have that design, but if you look around the room, it's clear that money has been spent. From the cabinet to the sofa to the paintings on the wall. There is also a large mirror near my bed that I believe is worth a thousand dollars. I'm sure this place is only for the wealthy. But...
What am I doing? What exactly am I doing here? I'm not familiar with this location... Could it just be one of my fantasies?
I closed my eyes and opened them again, but nothing had changed. I repeated it several times, but the location remained unchanged.
Where am I if this isn't a dream? Why don't I recognize this location?
"I'm glad you're awake now!"
I heard a woman's voice. I turned to face the source of the voice and saw a mid-aged lady who I also didn't recognize. "There are so many people who are waiting for you to wake up."
"W-who are you?" I managed to speak despite my difficulty. "I'm your doctor, hija," she said with a smile.
"W-why? W-why do I-i need a doctor? I-am I s-sick?" I stammered; it's still difficult for me to speak, and I can feel the pain between my jaws.
"You had an accident, hija, and you are very brave, you fought death," she replied again, smiling. What it says perplexes me. "W-what e-exactly do you m-mean? A-accident?"
"It's natural for you to be perplexed by what I'm saying; you've also been unconscious for two months."
What? I was unconscious for that long?
"W-where am I? W-what happened to a-me? W-why am I h-here? W-what accident?" I inquired, my face baffled.
"You are here in a private setting to be treated; you were hit by a car and sustained injuries as a result, which is also why it's hard for you to speak."
But no matter what she said, I remained perplexed. I can't remember anything, I'm not even sure what happened," I-I can't r-remember..."
The lady's smile disappeared, "Don't you remember the accident you were in, hija?" Confused, I tried to recall what she was saying, but no answer came from my brain. I shook my head. "How about your name? Can you tell me your name?" she asked again.
I was about to open my mouth and answer her question when I stopped,
"Why hija?"
I looked at her with tears forming in my eyes, "I-I don't know..."
"You don't remember your name?" I nodded, despite the fact that moving my head was difficult. The lady did likewise.
I'm not sure if she understood, but she nodded bidding her goodbye as she went to the women in white. I was left in the room, my mind befuddled by her questions.
I can't remember what she said by accident, and what's even more perplexing is how I can't remember my own name.
I looked around for answers when I noticed the bandage wrapped around my arm and the thick white cloth on my right leg. By having an accident, it appears that the lady was telling me the truth, but how come I don't remember it? Why am I clueless about my own identity?
I took another look around and noticed the large mirror on the side again.
Perhaps if I saw my own face, I'd remember who I was.
I forced myself to stand, but all I could manage was to sit on the bed's edge. It hurts, and I can't stand the pain that has taken over my body. I was in this position when I heard the door open loudly. Someone appears to have entered. I slowly turned around to see three attractive men.
They were all blessed with handsome faces, but it was the man who came in last that drew my attention. His eyes, which could melt me away with his gaze, captivated me in addition to his muscular and attractive face. But my admiration turned to fear when he began to speak, "tell me what you see,"
My whole body felt cold. I didn't think his attractive face could frighten me. I'm not sure what I did to cause him to be angry. What did I do wrong? Why does he seem so upset with me? Even the young man with him, who had been smiling at me, was frightening to me. I was afraid of what they wanted from me.
Fortunately, the woman who identified herself as my doctor was able to get the men to leave.
My tears began to fall and I don't know why. Maybe because of the confusion I'm getting. I'm not sure what I did wrong... I'm not sure what he means; how can I respond if I'm not sure what he's asking?
What caused this to happen to me? Why don't I understand what they mean? Why had I forgotten my own name? What happened to me?
The white women forced me to lie down crookedly before injecting me in the arm without telling me what it was. My tears were falling as I tried to recall what the frightening young man had asked.
After a while, I noticed my eyes becoming heavy, and I couldn't stop them. But before I could close my eyes, I saw the creepy young man's face through the window, looking at me with anger in his eyes. What did I do?
