It had been three days of hard riding since the Wolf Pack had left camp. Crow sent two men scouting ahead of the main body. They were gone only a short time when Crow spotted one of the scouts riding hard toward them with what looked like a body over the front of his saddle. The scout pulled up, saluted Crow and said, “We found "em sir! There"s about a hundred or so camped just a mile from here. I left Smitty to keep an eye on "em, but I brought you one to talk to.” “They may have other scouts out, have the men keep a sharp eye,” said Crow. “They had other scouts out, sir.
