Crow and the others had been on the move for nearly a week when they came to the Oregon Trail. The men stopped and watched a wagon train that stretched out for almost ten miles. Stump said to no one in particular, “Looks like we"d better hurry or there won"t be any room left in California.” The men laughed and then moved towards the train. Following Crow, they waited for an opening between wagons and cut through to the other side of the trail. That afternoon they found a hill overlooking a stream that had a commanding view and set up camp. The horses were the first order before anyone did anything for themselves. Once the mounts and the pack animals were taken care of, the camp was set up, and a campfire started. As the sky darkened, the moonless night was illuminated by the stars. Coyote
