new beginning

I walked off the plane with a giggling Nubia. I walk the convaerybelt and grabbed our bags and Nubia's stroller. I looked around for my mom's friend. My eyes stopped at a woman holding a sign the said my name. I walked over to her and took in her features. linin skin, powder blue eyes, and blonde hair slowly fading to white. "Jamila, look at how you've grown. The last time I seen you, you were on the kindergarten soccer team." She remarked while squishing my cheeks. She then turned to Nubia. Mom said she didn't tell Mrs. Satoshi anything. All she told her was the I had got pregnant and she sent me away to keep me away from my father. "And who's this cutie?" She asked while looking at Nubia who took in her new surroundings. "This is my daughter, Nubia." I answered.

"Okay, Jamila. This is the apartment you'll be living in and the college you'll go to is Akita International University. And after school you'll be working at my bakery. 'Doughy Delights'" Mrs. Satoshi informed me. All our things was sent out here and it seems someone unpacked them. I walked into the room that has stickers of disney princesses on the door. I opened the door and it was like I walked into a room made for a princess. The eggshell white walls had flowers and princess Belle, Cinderella, and Tiana. The curtain had the same three princesses as well. I picked Nubia up and walked to the bathroom. I put her in her baby bath and gently washed her. Once she was all clean I began to dry her. As I oiled her and put her diaper on and put on her footie with a bunny on it. I walked to Nubia's room and laid her down. I tucked her and and pulled out a music box that 'Ma Belle Evangeline' from 'princess and the frog.' Nubia tried to fight off her sleepiness, but ultimately lost. I kissed her forehead and turned on the baby monitor. I walked to my room and crashed on my bed.

The sound of Nubia screaming woke me up. I jumped out of bed and rushed to her room. I looked her crib and noticed her face slowly turned red from crying. "Oh hush sweetie. Mommy's here." I whispered to her. I felt bad for taking that from my mother but that what she told me to do. Nubia looked at me with her big brown doe like eyes as she pouted at me. I chuckled and walked to the kitchen. I pulled her bottle out from the microwave and fed her.

It was already 6:30 and school starts at 7:59. I picked Nubia up and got her dress. I put an sunflower yellow shirt that said 'little miss sassy pants.' on it, black sweat pants with sunflowers on them, and a black headband. I walked to my room and put Nubia on my bed. I put on dark blue ripped jeans, a dark gray crop top, and white airforces. I brushed my hair and grabbed Nubia's diaper bag, stroller, my phone, and backpack. I walked out the apartment complex Mrs. Satoshi stood there hold a keys to a 2022 Chevrolet Suburban. "Yout mother sent some money for you to get a car. Nubia's cars seat is already in there. Now hurry. You don't want to be late." Mrs. Satoshi informed me as the handed me the keys. I put Nubia in her seat and buckle her in. I put the stroller and stuff next to her. I contacted me phone and put on my Disney playlist.

I pulled into the university's parking lot blasting 'We Don't Talk About Bruno' I parked the car and the music stopped. I pulled out the stroller and diaper bag and put Nubia in and buckled her in. I put the diaper bag in the little basket under the stroller and looked for my class.

Once I made it to my English class the whole class turned to me. The professor had me introduce myself. "こんにちは、*はジャミラワシントンです。これは*の*のヌビアワシントンです。お**になります." (Translation: Hello, I am Jamila Washington and this is my daughter Nubia Washington. Please take care of us.) mumbled then bowed. The professor to me to sit next Sato Mei. I sat next to girl. She has Chestnut brown Hair, dark brown eyes, and porcelain skin. I picked Nubia up and held her. she looked around at everything with curiosity. "Aww she so adorable." Mei giggled. Nubia looked at her to remember her face.

I went to four of my classes. I took Nubia to the café and fed her,her bottle. Mei rushed over and sat down next to me. "Your daughter so adorable." She cood. Nubia side eyed her as she continued to drink her bottle.

After a long day in class and at work Nubia and I finally got home. As I was about to unlock door when a man with long inky black hair, porcelain skin, and dark brown eyes stopped me. "Hello, I'm Fujiwara Hinote. I'm the apartment manager." He greeted.
