I settle into my new office, the serene atmosphere enveloping me in comfort. The scent of fresh wood and paper fills my nostrils as I run my finger over the sleek desk. Upon arrival into the room, I have long forgotten the essence of my handbag. The poor things lays sprawled somewhere in the lone sofa in the office. I sink into the soft leather chair behind my desk, spinning around. My stomach warms with a thrill of excitement as I gaze out the window at the city skyline. It’s funny how I’ve been up and down the same hallway more than I can count. But I’ve never noticed the subtle seam in the wall, expertly camouflaged to blend with the surrounding paneling.
