Chapter 5-Moon Goddess at work

POV - (Kia)

When Ry and I stepped out of the elevator, all eyes were on us. The women were staring at my poor brother like he was a meal to be eaten. He had this silly smirk on his face. I wanted to roll my eyes at him and gave him a side glance.

"Looks like you are going to be very busy tonight trying to keep all the women off you." I giggled.

"Sis, I would not be worried about me, right now, but myself. I would start worrying about yourself." He chuckled. "I do not see a man that is not looking at you with lust and desire in their eyes. It looks like your dance card is going to be full." I groaned at the thought.

We both busted out laughing. My father and mother came walking up to us. "I am so glad you two are enjoying yourself, my father said. It is so good to see you laugh and smile, Kia." "Kia, you look so beautiful in your dress and it fit perfectly." Mom said. "Mom, thank you, the dress is beautiful and Mary did a wonderful job with my make-up and hair. Thank you for thinking of everything. I am sorry about earlier today." Dad and Ry gave me a questioning look with an eyebrow raise and I just waved them off. "Sweety, think nothing about it." my mother smiled at me with a knowing look.

I saw my good friend Gabriella standing next to her father, Alpha Barrett Armstrong, and her mother, Luna Bridgett. Ry growled really loudly and roared, "MATE!" Gabriella’s eyes were huge and a smile spread across her face, she said "MATE." Ry said "MINE." Everyone stopped dancing and all eyes turned on Gabriella and Ry. I watched a smile come across my dad and mom's faces. Mom gently laid her hand on my dad's arm and the other hand across her heart. I couldn't help but smile too.

I knew that Ry had been looking for his mate and I was really happy for Ry. Ry started walking towards Gabriella. The next thing I saw was him kissing Gabriella. At least Mom accomplished one of her children finding their mate tonight. My heart was full watching Ry and Gabriella dancing on the ballroom floor. I could tell that Ry was instantly in love with Gabriella and she felt the same. Their eyes were glowing with so much desire and love.

I scanned the ballroom to see who had attended tonight's masked ball. I saw Baxter walking towards me with the biggest smile on his face. I remember having the biggest crush on him growing up. You would not believe how annoying I was then. I thought to myself. But, I was always Gabriel's little sister, a nuisance and annoying brat in their eyes to have around while the boys had their fun. He was one of my brother's best friends and I always tried to get his attention by doing annoying things.

Baxter was six-one feet tall with sandy blond hair, green eyes, a hawk-looking nose, slightly tanned skin, full pink sexy lips and his body had hard muscles budging out of his tux. He is so yummy.

"Well, Kia, it is so nice to see you and you are finally at home. We have missed your present around the kingdom . I am glad you are finally home."

My heart was racing hearing him say those words to me. "Baxter you are so kind to say that and it is a pleasure to see you again." This man is so super-HOT! "Kia, would you honor me to have this next dance?" I smiled at him.

"Absolutely would love to dance with you Baxter."

Baxter gave me the sexiest smile. I thought I would melt on the spot. Baxter would be my dream chosen mate. I could make a life with this man standing in front. He walked me out onto the dance floor and the music started to play a beautiful waltz. Baxter pulled me close to him when the music first started and I felt a little light-headed. Oh, how I wanted his attention when I was seventeen. I lust after Baxter and had all kinds of naughty s****l thoughts about him and myself, before I left for university.

He whispered in my ear as we were dancing. "Kia, are you planning to stay home for a while since you graduated?" I felt shivers go down my back as he whispered in my ear. I lightly laughed and said "Baxter, you know me, you never know, I am always full of surprise. I fluttered my eyes at him and gave him a little giggle. He was so close, my eyes kept looking at his full pink sexy lips. I wondered what it would taste like if he kissed me. I slowly looked up at his green eyes where I saw the mischief in his eyes. This man could be trouble, for sure.

He spun me around to match the music of the waltz and before the waltz was coming to an end my wolf started freaking out in my head.

Aura started growling in my head, not liking my thoughts, I guess about Baxter being my chosen mate. I am trying to keep a smile on my face, so Baxter does not know what is going on in my head.

Aura starts howling and roaring in my head, saying "This is not our mate. You should not be thinking about this man inappropriately like you are. Shame on you Kia. I am so disappointed in you."

"Aura, please stop, you are about to give me a headache."

"No, this is not right, I am disgusted with you, your inappropriate thoughts you are having about a man that is NOT our Mate."

It was getting harder to keep a smile on my face and Baxter not knowing how my wolf was behaving.

"Aura, what has gotten into you?" She started pacing back and forth, growling and howling and talking, how she was so disgusted and I was a stupid human girl.

Finally, the waltz ended. Baxter and I were walking off the dance floor. I put my hand on his arm, "Baxter would mind getting me some refreshment while I go to the balcony to get some air, please?" "It would be my pleasure," he said. "Thank you." and I smiled.

Aura has not calmed down, going crazy in my head. I needed a few minutes to see what her problem was. Aura has never acted this way. I walked quickly to the private balcony which overlooks the garden to try to catch my breath. Hopefully, to calm Aura down. Once, I was outside looking at the garden realizing how beautiful the garden was this time of the year. I took a deep breath, looked at the Beautiful Full Moon, I said, "Aura, what is your problem?" She was howling, roaring and pacing nonstop.

All a sudden, a smell hit my nose and I felt someone's arms wrapping around my waist. I smelled the most wonderful scent I have ever smelled of summer rain and pine combs. I slowly turned around, loud and clear, I heard Aura say the one word I NEVER wanted to hear. "MATE."

POV

- (Valerio)

When I saw her, my eyes locked on her. She was the most beautiful girl I had ever laid eyes on. She had beautiful long blonde hair that was swept to the side, her mask covered her perfect nose, but I could tell that her face was perfect. Her eyes were the most gorgeous brown color I had seen. She was smiling, her smile made my heart stop with those lustrous soft wine lips. I needed to kiss those lips.

Who in the f**k was that man holding my mate so close on the damn dance floor? I wanted to f*****g kill him. I did not realize I was f*****g growling.

“Valerio, what is it, man? What is wrong?" asked Gabriel. "What the f**k?" said Reign.

All I could say is, "Who is that woman in the silver dress with royal blue trim on it?"

Both Gabriel and Reign turned around, looked in the direction I was pointing, then I heard Gabriel say "I am going f*****g kill him. That’s my f*****g sister!"

I saw her leaving the dance floor, I saw Gabriel marching off after the man she was dancing with, going to the refreshment table.

"Damn Markus, that is Gabriel's sister! What the f**k!"said Reign.

Through my cinched teeth, I looked at Reign and Frank and said, "She is my MATE!" "OH s**t!

GO get our LUNA!" with a big smile on Frank's face. "Damn right!" said Reign.

I watched her to see where she was going. She went to the private balcony overlooking the garden. I started marching over to her.

When I reached the balcony, she had her sexy back to me.

This woman was a goddess, her ass was so nicely cured, I wanted to reach out and squeeze her ass cheeks and have my way with her right her and now. Her body was setting me on FIRE, I could feel my d**k getting hard for her just standing one step from her.

"Claim our mate NOW!" said Aero. I could feel Aero wanting to take control and claim her. I had to fight him to stay in control.

All I could think right now was Thank you, Moon goddess, for my beautiful goddess." Before I realized what I was doing, I stepped forward, reached around her waist, and wrapped my arms around her. I wanted to hold her, I could not wait to touch her after so long waiting for her. She slowly turned around and we said together as in one heart beat the words I had been waiting for my mate since I was 18. "MATE!"
