Kate frowned. Wondering what the message was about, she immediately dialed the number and called her secretary back.
Her secretary picked up. “Hello—what does that mean, please?”
“Ma, you have to come here. Some thugs are disturbing the company and destroying everything. They demand to see the CEO. They’re asking for area dues to be paid to them. I don’t understand,” she said.
Kate went cold. How could thugs be demanding money? She decided to act cool — she didn’t want Alex to hear. She knew he would take it so seriously it would only cause more conflict.
