Chapter 9

Alex~

Alex was waiting at the school's parking lot for Fredrick but he didn't show up, he didn't see Freya either. After his first period he met Sheila, Freya's best friend in the hallway and told him that Freya was not in their first period and the teachers were not informed of their absence either, he was beginning to get worried. He went to his car to drive home when he saw Fredrick just park his truck not far from his.

“Hey, what happened? Why are you late?”,he asked

“Something happened at home, but it's all good”, Fredrick said but Alex saw something in Fredrick’s eyes. He was worried about something.

“Where's Freya?"

“She stayed at home, they will have a meeting with your uncle and aunt today.” he explained as he took his keys,wallet and phone into his pocket. He did not follow Fredrick into the school building instead he got into his car and drove to the packhouse. He went directly to his uncle's office as it's something that pulls him to go there. An alluring scent of roses and vanilla hits his nostrils. Since he turned eighteen,he had smelled that scent faintly, but today,it is stronger and more appealing. Without knocking the door, he stormed inside as he heard the worst statement of his life. “It can’t be! I will not be mated to a witch!” He did not mean to voice it loudly but he did. He looked at her and saw her beautiful blue eyes become dull and watery, he felt a slight regret of what he just said. He turned around and walked out of there, he didn't want to say anything and hurt her more. He was angry with himself by causing her pain but he can't be with her kind. She would remind him how his parents died, it took years for him to conquer his nightmares. He was there. He was there when his parents died twelve years ago. He was six when witches attacked them on the road and his father lost control of the vehicle. The car collided with a tree and exploded, he didn't know how he got out of the car before it exploded. It was his nightmare to have seen how his parents burned along with their car. “I couldn't relieve that again, never. I will reject her.”

"No!"

“You will not reject her! Luca, his wolf bolted.

“I'm sorry Luca but I must. There’s always a second chance.”

“No, she may not have a wolf but she's perfect for us. I will not allow you to reject her! Luca announced as he retreated at the back of Alex's mind.

Alex was already downstairs when the King orders him to go back to talk, he doesn't need to oblige his order but out of respect to the King,he complies. He went back upstairs to the King’s office, Freya was already gone but her parents were still there.

“Alex, is Freya your mate?”

“It doesn't matter if she is!”He retorted.

“You must think it through properly before you do something you will regret.” King Maxwell begins. “ You shall not reject the Moon Goddess gifts,” the King continues.

“You did it ,why can't I?" He retorted.

“It is not the same Alex, we're talking about Freya! His aunt says. Freya's parents are trying to be calm as they did not want to lash out at Alex.

“My parents were dead, her kind killed them!” He screamed as her aunt touched his arm.”Alex, she's still Freya,not all witches are bad. Dark witches killed your parents, not light, remember”, his aunt comforted him. The door opened widely as he saw Freya’s bloodshot eyes, Alex wanted to hug her and comfort her. It would be hard to reject her but he cannot be with her. He had so many struggles in himself as to what he's going to do. Alex heard Freya say something but he was so lost of his feelings that he did not hear what it was. Luca forced himself out and took over Alex's body as he was being pushed deep in his own mind. When Luca gave him back control he saw what had happened. Freya tried to reject him, he was furious. “How could she!“ Once again he stormed out from there, he shifted into Luca before he reached the main door, his shred clothes scattered all around as pack members stepped besides to let his wolf pass as someone opened the door. Luca ran into the forest for many hours until they came to the outskirts of the kingdom. He mindlink his Aunt that he would be staying at her parents house. Before his parents were killed they had bought a new house in the city, eventually they were from Silver Mountain but when his aunt was mated to King Maxwell, his parents decided to move into Crescent Moon pack. Dark witches attacked them, the day they were on their way to Crescent Moon. He tried many times to remember how he survived but he couldn't, he was unconscious. He knew for sure that someone helped him, someone saved his life but he didn't have any idea who.
