Chapter 18

Training program

Alex is in the kitchen with Fredrick and Roland. Roland is the gammas son, he was nineteen and had not found his mate yet. Fredrick will be nineteen soon and so does he. Alex was sure that Sheila, Roland's little sister, is Fredrick's mate. She will be eighteen next month and they will find out if they were mates.

“You look happier today,” Roland commented and clapped Alex's shoulder as he sat beside him.

“He's in love.” Fredrick pointed out.

“Wow, is that what mates do when we find them?” Roland wondered.

“Yeah, you will be a goner” Fredrick teased.

“You will be soon, Sheila will be eighteen next month.” Alex retorted

“Dude, that's my baby sister,” Roland claimed as Sheila came in with Freya.

Alex stood up from his chair and greeted Freya with a kiss on the lips then pulled a chair for her beside his.

“ah… so sweet” Sheila comment

“Yeah there will be an anthill in this place soon.” Fredrick jokes.

“When will you travel to Bluewater, Roland?” asked Freya.

“Tomorrow morning, I want to be at the training building this afternoon first, to see if my mate is there.”

Alex and Fredrick were in the training building where the participants will be staying. King Maxwell stood on the podium and called for the participants' attention. He introduced Maverick, Lucas, Bruno, Jacob, Arthur and Matt. They would be the ones who were in charge of this training program. He called each participant's name according to their packs.

“Crescent moon packs participants please move to the side when I call your names” The King started.

“Weston, Landon, Sadie, Eli, Nolan, Ezekiel, Iris, Eloise, Audrey, Luke , Jayden and ten more names his uncle called among them are his and Fredrick. Alex wondered why Iris and Cora would want to participate in this training when he knew they didn't have interest in training before. Then his uncle called the seven participants from Ash Forest pack, among them is the Alpha's son Nathan and his cousins Jackson, Everly and Asher. Silver Mountain had fourteen participants and all were alpha blood. There's Elijah nineteen years old and Ethan who just turned eighteen, sons of the current Alpha. Then there were Logan, Isaac ,Mason and three females Isla , Maya and Aliyah from Blood moon pack. The King called the Bluewater pack's participants, Anthony, which Alex became friends with in the last few weeks and his friends Danny and Liam. Three girls were standing behind them who were giggling continuously. Alex saw Anthony’s gloomy face. One of them must be Brianna, Anthony's sister, he thought. Some had found their mates among the participants. He observed the new faces and tried to remember their names. Fredrick nudged him on the elbow.

“ I think half of the female participants were here because of you.” Alex turned his head to Fredrick.

“They were ogling at you the whole time.” Fredrick whispered, and Alex growled.

“I don't give a damn if their eyeballs come out of their socket!” Alex retorted.

“We have sixty participants combine and you will be divided into six groups.” The King explains.

“ Each of you will pull out an envelope from our box here, each envelope has ten cards and a specific color. It will determine which color group you belong to and who your comrades are. We have red, yellow, black blue,white and green . Those ten cards you hold will be your points in participating in this program. Right now each group has one hundred points but every time you do something against the rule one card will be taken from you. Those who lose all ten cards will be sent back home.” The rules are posted on your wing wall. Read it carefully.” He announced.

The training building had five floors, at the bottom floor they had a huge gym. It had a huge training ground outside which had different equipment and weapons they could practice with. Each group had their own wing on the building. They will learn to be united and help each other, it's one of the criteria they would need to pass in order to be eligible at the end.

“ I see someone had found their mates among the participants, those who did, informed your respective leader and they will arrange your own room if you want to be together. We have the 5th floor for mated pairs, unmated male or female were not allowed on that floor.” The King continued.

“Your respective leader will show you to your wing to settle your things and at 18 sharp we have a get along dinner at the packhouse.”

All the participants were scattered around to get their luggage. Alex looked around and noticed Anthony talking to a blond female. He seemed irritated, his uncle nudged him and pointed in Anthony's direction.

“ Come, we go talk to them,” the King said to Alex.

“You can't have four pieces of luggage with you here, Bri! And why are you even here, you have no basic training at all.” They heard Anthony complaining. They made themselves known to them as Anthony turned and bowed.

“What's going on here?” Alex's uncle asked Anthony, but Brianna answered it for him.

“Hi, King Maxwell, I'm Brianna, Anthony's little sister and you must be Alex? She purred while scrutinizing Alex's body. Luca roared in Alex's mind, to not to let her touch him, Alex stepped back, he was disgusted.

“Young lady, is this all your luggage?” asked the King. Brianna turned her attention to the King.

“Yes, your majesty, there will be more coming tomorrow.” Brianna answered sweetly .

"What?" “ Anthony's surprised voice echoed around. “ You can't be serious.”

“In which luggage do you have your training outfits?” the King asked calmly.

“ Oh, I don't have it yet, I’m planning to go shopping tomorrow and buy some.”

Anthony felt embarrassed of her sister.

“So in which luggage do you have your everyday clothes?” the King asked again.

“In that black one” Brianna said as she pointed to the black luggage.

“Alex, can you please take that black luggage upstairs for her.” his uncle ordered and Alex stared at his uncle.

“Oh no need for that your majesty, that is not Alex's job, there must be some omegas in this building who can carry my luggage upstairs?” Brianna implied

King Maxwell had had enough.

“Miss Black, we don't assign omegas in this building. It's one of your training to learn to do chores, you cook your own meal, do your own laundry and clean your own room. Here in this building we are equals. If that will not suit you so you are in the wrong place and you are welcome to travel back home.

Two girls heard what the King said to Brianna, they shook their heads and murmured something. Alex and Anthony followed the King inside the building, Alex didn't need to look at Brianna to know that she was seething in anger.

"Your majesty, I apologize for my sister's behavior. She's spoiled rotten and it's our fathers doing.”

The King stops walking and turns to Anthony.

“I understand, that's why she will stay and you keep an eye on her.” The King said to Anthony. They continued inside and the King went to talk to Maverick.

Alex asked Anthony which group he belonged to. Anthony showed the Blue cards he had and Alex looked at his, it was white.
