Outside, in the cool night air, Adrian leaned against the building, trying to steady his trembling hands and racing thoughts. The tears that had welled up in his eyes spilled over, carrying with them the pain of a love lost. He didn't deserve it. She had no right to hurt him that way. "Adrian!" he heard Jeanne call him.
