KISS ME PLEASE 3

Days of Silence The week dragged on like torture. Every morning I woke up hoping for a message from Lily, and every night I went to bed disappointed. Our once constant chat had slowed to almost nothing. A few short “Good morning” texts here and there, sometimes a random emoji, but nothing more. No invitations. No flirty “babe.” Just silence that made my stomach twist. By Wednesday, I was a mess. I sat in the library pretending to study, but my eyes kept drifting to my phone. I opened our chat for the hundredth time. Me: Hey, how’s your week going? Still swamped with assignments? No reply for six hours. When she finally responded, it was brief. Lily: Yeah, pretty busy. Hope you’re doing okay. That was it. I stared at the screen until it went dark. What happened? Did I come on too strong with those hug texts? Does she regret meeting me? I tried distracting myself with new friends from class. Sarah dragged me to a campus party on Friday night, but even surrounded by loud music and dancing bodies, my mind was elsewhere. “You keep checking your phone,” Sarah shouted over the music. “Waiting for someone special?” I forced a laugh. “Sort of. I met this girl last week. We’ve been friends online forever. I thought we had a connection, but now she’s ghosting me.” Sarah raised an eyebrow. “Give her space but don’t wait forever. You deserve someone who’s excited to see you.” Her words stuck with me the whole weekend. I spent Saturday cleaning my room just to stay busy, replaying our cafe conversation in my head. Lily’s laugh. Her blue eyes. The way she’d said “babe” so easily. By Sunday night, I was convinced I’d ruined everything. Then, on Monday evening, my phone buzzed. Lily: Hey Ella, are you free? Can you come over to my hostel? I nearly dropped my phone. My heart exploded with relief and excitement. I typed back so fast my fingers fumbled. Me: Yes! I’m free right now. I’ll be there in twenty minutes. I jumped off my bed, heart racing. I changed three times before settling on a soft oversized sweater and leggings that made me feel cute but comfortable. I brushed my hair until it shone, dabbed on a little lip gloss, and practically ran across campus to her hostel block. When I knocked on her door, my palms were sweaty. Lily opened it wearing a simple tank top and shorts, her long legs on full display. She looked even more beautiful than last time. “Ella!” she said warmly, stepping forward. The hug happened instantly. Her arms wrapped around me, pulling me close. This time I didn’t hold back. I buried my face in her neck and breathed her in deeply. God, her scent warm vanilla, a hint of coconut from her shampoo, and something uniquely her that made my head spin. It was intoxicating. My n*****s tightened instantly against my sweater. No bra, I thought. I made sure of that. “You smell so good,” I whispered before I could stop myself. Lily chuckled softly, her breath tickling my ear. “So do you. I missed this. Come in, don’t stand in the hallway.” She led me inside her cozy single room. We sat on her bed since there was only one chair. Being this close to her again made my thighs press together instinctively. “So,” she started, tucking one leg under her, “tell me everything I missed. How were your classes this week? Any drama with your coursemates?” I tried to focus on her words, but my eyes kept drifting to her full lips and the way her tank top dipped slightly at the neckline, showing a hint of cleavage. “Classes were okay,” I said, shifting closer. “But honestly, I was distracted. I kept thinking about our meetup at the cafe. It felt… special. Then you got really quiet and I started overthinking everything.” Lily’s blue eyes softened. She reached out and squeezed my hand. “I’m sorry. I wasn’t ignoring you on purpose. This semester is kicking my ass with deadlines. But I thought about you too. A lot.” “Really?” I asked, my voice hopeful. “Because I was worried I scared you off with my texts. I meant every word though. Your hugs are addictive.” She smiled, that beautiful smile that made her eyes crinkle. “They’re addictive for me too. You fit perfectly against me. I almost didn’t want to let go that day.” My pulse quickened. We talked for nearly an hour about school stress, funny professors, and random memories from our online days. But my mind kept wandering tracing the line of her jaw, imagining what it would feel like to kiss her neck, to run my hands down her chest. “What are you thinking about right now?” Lily asked suddenly, tilting her head. “You keep zoning out.” I stammered, cheeks burning. “N-nothing. Just… happy to be here. Really happy.” She didn’t look convinced but let it slide. “Good. Because I was thinking… do you want to sleep over tonight? It’s getting late and I don’t want you walking back alone.” My eyes widened. “Sleep over? Like… stay the night?” “Yes,” she said with a soft laugh. “Unless you have early classes tomorrow.” “No, I’m free,” I replied quickly, trying to sound casual even though my heart was hammering. “I’d love to.” God, please help me control myself, I thought as she moved closer on the bed to grab her phone charger behind me. Her breasts brushed lightly against my arm, soft and warm. I clenched my thighs tighter, heat pooling between my legs. The night was falling fast outside her window, and I had no idea how I was going to survive sleeping next to her without confessing everything I felt.
