STORY 2: CHAPTER 1, KISS ME PLEASE

1053 Words
Chapter 1: The Unexpected Reunion I pushed open the glass doors of the campus food cafe, the smell of fresh coffee and toasted sandwiches hitting me like a warm hug. It was only my third day at university, and everything still felt new and slightly terrifying. Lectures, orientation sessions, and the endless sea of unfamiliar faces had left me exhausted. I just wanted a quiet corner and something sweet to settle my nerves. Then I saw her. She stood near the entrance, tall and effortlessly striking, scrolling through her phone with one hand while balancing a takeaway cup in the other. My heart stopped for a full second. Those long legs, the way her dark hair cascaded over her shoulders, and that confident posture it was her. Lily. My online friend for almost two years. The one I’d stayed up until 3 a.m. chatting with about everything from bad movies to our deepest fears. “Lily?” I breathed, my voice barely carrying over the cafe noise. Her head snapped up. Those piercing blue eyes the ones I’d only seen in pictures widened in shock, then lit up with pure joy. She was even taller than I’d imagined, probably five-nine or ten, with a sexy, athletic grace that made her fitted white top and jeans look like they belonged on a magazine cover. Her full lips curved into a smile that made my knees feel weak. “Ella? Oh my god, it’s really you!” she exclaimed, stepping forward without hesitation. We met in the middle in a tight embrace. Her arms wrapped around me firmly, pulling me against her taller frame. She smelled incredible like warm vanilla mixed with something soft and floral. My heart skipped wildly. I could feel the softness of her breasts pressed against mine, and for a moment, I forgot how to breathe. “You’re actually here,” I whispered against her shoulder, not wanting to let go. “I can’t believe this.” Lily laughed softly, the sound vibrating through her chest. “I know, right? All those messages, all those voice notes, and now we’re standing in the same place. You feel exactly like I thought you would. Warm. Perfect.” I reluctantly pulled back, but the spark between us didn’t fade. My cheeks were burning. “Can I… hug you once more? Just for a second? It still doesn’t feel real.” Lily’s blue eyes sparkled with amusement and something warmer. “Of course you can, silly. Come here.” She opened her arms again, and I stepped into them without thinking. This time I held on a little longer, letting my hands rest on her back. I could stay here forever, I thought, my pulse thundering in my ears. Her body felt so inviting, so right. When we finally separated, we were both grinning like idiots. “Let’s grab a table,” she said, linking her arm through mine like we’d known each other in person for years. “I need to hear everything. How’s your first week going? Are the dorms as tiny as everyone says?” We found a small booth near the window. I couldn’t stop staring at her the way her blue eyes caught the light, the subtle curve of her hips when she sat down, the confident way she carried herself. “It’s been overwhelming,” I admitted, stirring my latte. “New classes, trying to remember everyone’s names. But honestly? Seeing you right now just made my whole week better. I kept thinking, what are the chances we’d end up at the same university?” “Pretty slim,” Lily replied, leaning forward on her elbows. “But I’m so glad it happened. You’re even cuter in person, you know that? Your smile is exactly like in your photos. I’ve been dying to meet you properly.” I laughed, feeling shy but thrilled. “Stop it. You’re the one who looks like a model. How tall are you anyway? You make me feel short.” “Five-nine,” she said with a playful wink. “But don’t worry, I like looking down at you. It’s kind of adorable. So tell me any crazy roommate stories yet? Mine keeps blasting music at midnight.” We talked for over an hour, the conversation flowing easily from online jokes to real-life updates. We laughed about the terrible campus Wi-Fi, shared horror stories about our first lectures, and teased each other about the silly memes we used to send at 2 a.m. “You know,” Lily said at one point, her voice dropping a little, “I always imagined meeting you would feel special. But this… this is even better than I expected.” My stomach flipped. “Same. I feel like I’ve known you forever, but seeing you in person is… different. In a good way.” Eventually, she checked her phone. “Hey, do you want to come back to my hostel room? We could keep talking there. It’s quieter than here.” My heart soared, but then crashed. “I wish I could. My coursemates are waiting for a group project meeting in twenty minutes. I completely forgot. Rain check?” Lily smiled, though I thought I saw a flicker of disappointment. “Of course. Next time for sure. Don’t let them work you too hard, okay?” We stood up and hugged goodbye again. This one lingered just a second longer. As I walked away, my chest felt tight. God, I wanted to ask for more. Just a small peck on the cheek. But what if she doesn’t feel the same? What if I ruin this? Back in my dorm room, I couldn’t stop replaying the day. I grabbed my phone and typed before I could overthink it. Me: Babe, I can’t get enough of your hug. I wanted to melt right there in your arms. You smell so good it’s unfair. Lily replied within minutes, a smiling emoji followed by text. Lily: You can, babe. Anytime you want. I’d hold you as long as you need. Babe. That word sent heat rushing through my entire body. I dropped my phone onto the bed, smiling into my pillow as I drifted off to sleep. Tomorrow couldn’t come fast enough. I already couldn’t wait to see Lily again.
