We wished each other “goodnight” and told each other that we loved them—as we do every night—and soon I was asleep. It must have been a little after eleven. We gained an hour when we crossed into the Central Time Zone. I woke a little after dawn. I did not recall them, but I knew my sleep was troubled by dreams. I heard Mel moving about.
