Chapter 3

At first, I thought it was just my imagination, so I shifted slightly. But the rubbing only became more obvious. I snapped awake instantly. My body tensed as I hurried a few steps forward, trying to put some distance between myself and whoever was behind me. Unfortunately, the crowd pouring through the subway car pushed me right back into that cramped corner again. I clutched my bag tightly, nerves twisting in my chest. What if I ran into that groper again? While my thoughts spiraled anxiously, the person behind me continued pressing against me without restraint, shamelessly rubbing against my body again and again. What terrified me even more was the reaction building inside my own body. Was it because I hadn't dated anyone in too long? How could a complete stranger make me feel this strange thrill... along with a secret, shameful anticipation buried deep inside me? I was trapped between the subway wall and the body behind me, unable to move. Without being able to see him, every sensation only became sharper. Heat slowly spread across my face. I didn't know whether it came from humiliation or from the desire I didn't dare acknowledge. I thought he would stop eventually. Instead, he only became bolder. Just as I felt myself nearing my limit, someone suddenly grabbed my arm and pulled me away. I gasped softly in surprise. "It's me, Ellie." The familiar voice made me look up immediately. It was Ethan. At that moment, I almost wanted to cry. He wrapped an arm protectively around me, shielding me against his chest. Looking up at the sharp line of his profile, I felt an overwhelming sense of safety. His arms enclosed me completely. And for the first time, something unfamiliar began growing quietly inside my heart. Leaning close to my ear, Ethan asked softly, "Are you okay?" My eyes were slightly red as I shook my head gently. "I'm fine... Ethan." The train lurched forward with the crowd pressing tighter around us, forcing our bodies flush against each other. And then I felt it. The unmistakable reaction from his body. Maybe it was because of everything that had happened moments earlier, but instead of panicking, I found myself wanting him even closer. The heat of him brushed lightly against me through the thin layers of clothing, hot enough to make my entire body feel weak. My thoughts gradually blurred. Then the subway suddenly plunged into a dark tunnel. In the darkness, I could hear Ethan's uneven breathing beside my ear, just like that night in the bathroom. Almost unconsciously, I leaned back against him, silently craving more. As if encouraged by my response, his large hands tightened around my waist, fingers slowly roaming over my body. His breath brushed against my neck, warm and teasing, making me instinctively clutch at his shirt. My legs were starting to give out beneath me, but I fought desperately to stay silent. My breathing still grew heavier and heavier. Desperate to stop myself from letting out anything more embarrassing, I suddenly bit down on his forearm. Ethan immediately steadied me with one arm, supporting my trembling body against him. Then he lightly bit my ear. My entire face burned so hot it felt ready to melt. A moment later, his hand slowly slipped beneath the hem of my skirt as he leaned close to my ear and whispered hoarsely, "Ellie... is this okay?"
