Vivienne was wearing a tartan school girl styled dress, which was completely at odds with her tattooed appearance. She was hunched over her keyboard, furiously hammering away at the keys. A sure sign that she was sending off a pissy email to a client. I noted the pencil slid through her top bun and wondered how long she had been at the coffee shop working.
I hid my smile, as I saw Ammo really absorbing the place as we walked towards the table. Vivienne didn’t even look up as we sat down, making Ammo glance at me uncomfortably. I shrugged, waving Tammy over to us to take our order. It was only as I was adding an additional coffee to regular order that Vivienne finally snapped up in confusion.
She looked at Ammo and then at me, blurting out, “I thought you were with Cole?” she asked, almost accusatory.
“Vivienne,” I groaned, “Ammo is one of my best friends, and has come to visit.”
“What?” she barked, “You can’t blame me for thinking that. You’ve literally just showed up with a biker.”
“Vee, what the actual f**k, Ammo and I grew up together.”
She raised her brow addressing Ammo directly. “Did you now? And Ammo isn’t your real name, I take it?”
Ammo leaned back, s**t sure of himself as he said, “My roadname’s Ammo, but darling you can call me anything you like,” and there was zero chance of misinterpreting his meaning.
I watched my friend as she blushed under his gaze. She quickly slammed her laptop shut, leaned forward and said, “Okay, fine, I’m being a b***h. So why don’t we start with you giving me some dirt on Sadie over here.”
The conversation was easy, and I realised that I didn’t have to keep my past and present so neatly separated. After that initial hiccup, Vee was actually warm, welcoming and fun within the whole set up.
For the next two weeks, Ammo, Vee and I worked, socialised and bar hopped. And while I was having fun, there was a key person missing in this whole setup. Cole and I spoke daily, but it just wasn’t enough. I knew that he was tied down at the club, I had picked up a few conversations between Ammo and him, and I could tell - even from here - that he was under strain.
Jeanette had called me a few times, screeching in glee about the app being presented at some awards platform. It had apparently been beta tested, and the feedback had been beyond what anyone was expecting, and now it was up for some award. I knew it was good. I knew it would ensure that the downloads were high on release day. And I knew that this would boost my career. But honestly, all I could think about was whether Cole would be at this awards ceremony. So when the call came through from Jeanette confirming the dates for the ceremony - in London - I was pretty thrilled.
S: The awards ceremony thing. Are you going? I asked Cole
C: It’s in London and I get to see you, of course I’ll be there.
I smiled at his reply. I was getting to see him next week.
C: I’m going to have to meet you at the event, but I can’t f*****g wait to spend the night with you again.
The feeling was mutual.
When I told Ammo that we were heading back to London in two days, he didn’t seem as excited as I’d expected. Maybe Luxembourg life was for him after-all? I dutifully messaged Vee and told her that we were heading back to London for a bit. I also sent another message. One that I knew needed to be sent, but instead I had been stewing on it for a while.
S: I’ve thought about what you said, and you’re right about some things. What you did was still messed up though. Can we grab a coffee sometime and talk? I miss you.
I wasn’t sure if Layla would respond, but I knew that I needed to send that message.
As Ammo and I stepped out of Heathrow airport, the watery sunlight of London greeted us. The two of us split up - he headed back to the club, and I needed to meet Jeanette and the team at the hotel where the event was happening. We agreed to all get ready together and have some pre-team drinks.
I wore a black elegant evening dress with a plunging neckline. It was a mix of lace, beas and mesh, and it clung to my figure, accentuating all my curves in all the right ways. To say that I didn’t choose the dress with Cole in mind, would be an outright lie. And as I walked into the ballroom, even I was aware of the double glances I was receiving.
“Jesus Sadie,” Jeanette admonished, “You look better than I do.” She grabbed my hand and whisked me to our table. Cole was nowhere in sight. I sat and mingled with everyone at our table, talking about the app, how great it was, and how honoured I was to work on the project. Jeanette even spoke me up a bit - which was unusual. I loved Jeanette, but she was definitely the type of woman who didn’t actively open doors for another girl in the industry. That somehow her success was tied to every other woman’s lack. It was a ridiculous notion, and yet, she was my employer, so when she spoke me up, I smiled up at her and thanked her with gratitude.
I felt a warm hand brush my shoulder, sending shivers down my spine.
“Good evening everyone, I apologize for my late appearance, I’ve been at the office until now,” Cole’s deep voice rumbled from behind me.
“Oh mister Monroe, don’t be ridiculous, we’re just happy that you could attend,” Jeanette gushed.
Cole slid into the chair next to me, placing his hand under the table and on my thigh. We did not look at each other as we continued with small talk at the table. And when I stood up, excusing myself to the ladies, I knew that he would follow.
As I stepped into the powder room, he slammed me against the wall, his lips devouring mine hungrily. I lifted my leg, wrapping it around him, effectively pulling him closer. Instead he released me, leaving me cold. He locked the door and stalked back towards me.
“I need you to be quiet Sadie, you hear me?” he growled with need.
These weeks apart had left us frazzled and wanting. I nodded my head as he lifted me up, pressing me against the wall. I wrapped my legs around his waist, grinding into him, showing him exactly what I wanted.
Pushing my dress up, he smiled as he realised that I wasn’t wearing any panties. “What a good f*****g girl you are,” he purred.
“Cole,” I moaned his name, like a plea on my lips.
Without any fuss, he released himself from his pants and slid into me in one swift move. I bit down on his neck to stop from crying out. My breasts spilt out of my dress, bouncing up and down as he f****d me against the wall of the woman’s powder room. Our kiss was a clash of teeth and tongues. There was no foreplay. It wasn’t gentle. It was the coming together of two people in the most animalistic of ways. It was a language that spoke of longing and need.
My p***y walls quivered as they tightened around his c**k. I moaned into his neck as I came, trying to keep quiet as he pumped into me, soon finding his own release.
When we pulled apart and looked at one another, Cole sported a boyish smile as he said, “s**t. I’ve missed you. That performance Sadie...” he breathed in, “I’ll make it up to you tonight.”
“Don’t think I wasn’t right there with you Cole,” I said as I repositioned my dress.
“Right,” he laughed, “Stepping forward to escort me out.”
Our app won the award, and so the whole team was in a celebratory mood, while I just wanted to go home with Cole. The light touches and under table pinches were working me up into a frenzy, and right now I just wanted to be under him. He knew, the bastard knew what he was doing, and I loved every minute of it.
We left discreetly, and when we entered the club, I was greeted as if they were simply welcoming me home. I wasn’t left with too much time for hellos at the clubhouse, but Ammo made a point of coming over to greet me and wolf whistle at my dress, which had Cole grumbling a “f**k off”, as he pushed me down the corridor towards his room.
The night was filled with everything I needed and more. He was exactly as I remembered, and when I cried out his name, as the ecstacy rolled through me time and time again, I understood why three weeks was torture for us. He was like a starving man, going back for multiple helpings.
I eventually fell asleep to the rise and fall of his chest.
As morning broke, I untangled my legs with Cole’s. He was sound asleep, and I didn’t want to wake him unnecessarily. I dressed in silence, and made my way to the bar for some much needed coffee and breakfast. I was supposed to meet Hunter later today to sign off on his project. It was complete, and he was happy, so the sign-off was the last stage. And while I was in London, I figured we could do it in person.
Kerri served up a mean plate of bacon and eggs, and that is how Cole found me: eating a club breakfast at the bar, whilst scrolling i********:.
“I could get used to this,” he rumbled, his hair still mussed up from sleep and other activities. My stomach pooled with desire as I acknowledged how good looking he actually was. I laughed and motioned for him to join me. Once he had a cup of coffee in front of him he asked, “So when do you head back?”
I grinned. I knew he was expecting me to say that I needed to leave as soon as possible for work, but I brought my laptop with me and was planning on staying a few days here with Cole. I needed to see him for more than one night and I needed to see if I could be back in a club environment for more than one night. So I simply said, “I have to get Hunter to sign off on his project later this morning, but then…” his grip tightened on his mug as he waited, “I’m sticking around here for a few more days.”
He blinked.”Here?” he asked hesitantly.
“Yes Cole, here as in the clubhouse.”
He engulfed me in a hug that spoke of words unsaid.
“And work?” he pulled back and asked.
“I have my laptop with me, so I’ll just set myself up at the bar or something.”
He grinned boyishly. The morning was easy, as conversation from different club members washed over us. It was actually kind of nice.
When I left for my meeting with Hunter, something inside of me had settled. Of course Cole made a prospect tail me to my meeting, but in the end, I didn’t mind.
