“I’m still saying it’s a bad idea to call her back to the pack,” Alpha George said to his Luna, his voice tight with fear. “What if the danger comes after her… and we all get caught in its claws because of her?”
Linda leaned back, her expression bored but her eyes cold. “George, nothing will happen unless we let it. Remember, honey, the blood promise no longer binds us. We don't have to keep her safe anymore. If anyone dares come after her, we won’t hesitate to make her the sacrifice to save ourselves.”
A low, cruel laugh escaped her lips, and George’s smirk mirrored her wickedness.
“But still, we should treat her like we used to back then. She’s married to the Alpha King, and we can’t afford to offend him,” George said again, letting out a worried sigh.
