Chapter 16 In the morning, Sarahi and Lucien wandered, hand in hand down the hallway to the dining room. Adjoining the kitchen, the massive space doubled as a meeting hall and auditorium. Every surface from the cinder block walls to the laminate floor, even the tile ceiling gleamed in shiny white. A row of narrow windows near that ceiling admitted pale winter sun. Milling clerics, Nephilim, and children filled the room, just like any other day, apart from an excited buzz that hummed just below the surface.
