Triplets of Peril

After the events of Miss Joyce forcing out my confidence back.

I stayed at the Training grounds, to work out, I know I'm gonna need it later on in the future, so I did some basics.

I was pretty hesitant at first after Informer Joyce left, but I know they will beat me up again if I did, so I toughen it out and started already.

Let's just do this...

At first, I did some Push-ups, I can do about a hundred easily so I should do about 200 a day if I can.

I'm not that tired, that's pretty good.

I tried doing Pull-ups on the poles displayed on the side of the Training grounds, and so far I can do about a hundred just like push-ups, so I should do about 200 a day as well.

Their poles are pretty sturdy, I bet these are made from high-quality materials.

Curl-ups and Running are my main lower body workout for now if they have some sort of treadmill or something close to a runner's track, that should be pretty useful.

But for now, I'm utilizing the sides of the Training ground as my course, since even the other warriors are utilizing it as well.

And to my surprise when I did, I was very fast, faster than the other warriors.

Why am I this fast!? I'm just skipping the other runners!

Though I don't know what I look like when I do those workouts on my own, I looked very cool when I sparred with Miss Joyce, I know that for a fact.

Is my running posture even that good?

But me alone here doing some workouts, is probably not a good sight, at least that's what I feel.

But every time I switch workouts to slowly adjust my body to a different task scenario, a lot are watching me.

But gradually, it didn't bother me that much.

"I've been here for a whole day, I should probably go back, it's getting pretty late. "

I said to myself as I was on the ground sitting as I watch the dawn sky.

I can go back on my own, I've memorized the way to my room since it's in the same hall as the throne room.

Ever since I became homeless back in my world, my sense of direction really shifted.

I should really learn practical skills too.

"Yo, Hero, are you heading back? "

The other warrior here asked me.

He's the one that asked Miss Joyce earlier, isn't he?

He's pretty tall, and he looks like he's been here a long time too.

"Well, it's getting late, and I haven't been out for this long, so I should probably go back. "

I told him.

"Here's a piece of advice, rarely anyone sleeps here, and if they need to leave it's only 'cause of some important stuff, like participating in the actual fight outside. "

He told me.

Rarely anyone sleeps? Have they been fighting for a long time now? Jeez...

Perhaps they have been battling the GA Monsters for a long time, that sleeping doesn't really matter at this point, because if they did.

They might get attacked by the GA Monsters at night...

"Is that so? Man, I must be pretty weak-minded to assume I'm tired, maybe I should stick around and just rest here. "

I said.

Now that I realize it, I'm not that tired, is this Forcivan's stamina on the works.

"You seem to be good, how about a duel then? "

He asked.

I might need fights like this since if I'm going up against monsters whom I haven't seen before, I should learn to at least fight some random person who is inclined to fight me.

And if I didn't, I will be overwhelmed completely, that's what I feel though.

"You know what, why not? I'm not that tired, and I need more experience in combat anyway. "

I said and stood up.

"That's the spirit. "

He said with excitement.

"What's your name, Sir? "

I asked him.

"Sir?! Hahaha! Just call me Parter, how about you? "

He laughed, asking me.

My name?

"Ivan and you've been around here for a while now, haven't you, Sir Parter? "

I asked him.

"Well, if you're a Great Warrior like me who is also a blacksmith, you will, and I have less opportunity outside other than help out here. "

He said.

"That's pretty tough, but by the looks of it, you don't have any issues. "

I told him.

His body is big, and he's taller than me, I remember that Forcivan is tall, but this guy says otherwise.

"Quite, how about it? Are you ready? "

He said, asking me.

"Yeah, let's go, I wanna see how strong a great warrior is. "

I said.

I then readied myself.

He also did a stance as well.

"You'll see, Hero Ivan. "

He said and run at me.

What's with people running at me at the start?!

I braced myself for impact because that will not feel any better!

He raised his right arm and punched me with his big fist.

I want to do something different this time, instead of dodging the first attack, I will tank it by blocking it and see whether I can survive big hits like this.

His fist landed on my forearms that I used for blocking it.

*boom*

His has more weighted! But it's not like I can't move it, in fact, the King's attacks have far more power than his.

It's fairly obvious, he's the King, after all, a Warrior King no less.

This guy might be bigger than me and the King, but it does not show it when it comes to combat.

Is that why he chose to stay inside and help out other warriors instead?

I grabbed his right arm with both of my hands because his arm is very huge.

Should I try kicking? What will he and the other warriors react?

Since after I noticed in my fights against the King and Miss Joyce, both of them completely didn't use their feet to kick.

I pulled him to me spun around and high kicked him to his left face.

"Woah! "

"Did he used his foot to attack?!"

Everyone that is around us watching was surprised when I did that.

Parter was flown away by my kick, not very far since I didn't put that amount of power to do so, I was merely testing it.

He then landed back on his feet and stood up.

"That was unexpected, Hero Ivan, what was that? "

He asked as he pressures the pain of my kick.

"I noticed it... when I sparred with the King and Miss Joyce, you don't use your feet to attack. "

I told him.

I'm not that good at kicking or taekwondo in general, but I know Forcivan's kicks are very powerful.

I barely used it in the game, but I remembered when I did, it has a ton of DPS or damage per second.

"That is one of the unforeseen knowledge that I have as a Hero. "

I told him.

I wonder, after doing that, will the others pick it up?

Or some already knows of it.

"Is that a skill? "

"It looks like it's not, since his feet didn't glow. "

Is that how skills work here? If it's activated, it glows from your body, whether if it's punch, my hands will glow, or if it's from my feet, it will glow, is that how it works?

"Amazing, never have I thought of using my leg or my feet to attack. "

He complimented as he walks back towards me to continue fighting.

Though even if they did pick it up, they will start over by practicing it.

And even if I didn't practice much of my combat skills both punch and kicks, I gained a new memory, Forcivan's muscle memory of fighting.

I wonder if I will pick up Forcivan's sword skills when I held a sword because the sword skills are his main focused skills.

I always level them up all the time because they are my most used set of skills in the game.

"How about trying it? "

I suggested.

"I won't be able to do it as good as yours. "

He said.

That slightly compliments me though, and it makes me wanna teach at least him though, and perhaps work my way up with the others that I can teach well.

"I can teach you the basics at least. "

I told him.

At least those I'm associated with first, the King, Miss Joyce, and Sir Parter.

Maybe soon, there will be more...

I'm so tired, and I still have the King's orders left to do for the night.

It passed sunset, and by the looks of it, even he caught up with the fact that rarely anyone sleeps.

It's good, he's blending in with the other warriors, but at the same time, he needs more treatment for his growth.

He's also very kind too, considering he pulled his punches when we sparred.

I then arrived at the two's office.

Despite them haven't been in combat for so long and still working on house rest, they still do their best to contribute to the kingdom.

"Ladies, good evening. "

I told them as I entered their office.

"Good morning, Joy. "

Vigor jokingly said.

She's pretty laid back tonight, I hope she's fine now.

Vigor, my friend for as long as I can remember, have been there fighting with me in this war for a long time.

She's a brawler warrior using her first to fight the monsters outside and is also one of the main warriors of the kingdom.

Right now she is resting after overexerting herself last week.

"You're very funny, Vigor, you know your jokes are very old! Hi girl, what's up? "

Tempo said, annoyed at Vigo and asking me.

She must've been tired of seeing her face from working with her this past week now.

Assistant Informer Tempo, despite being the Assistant of mine, she's faster than me since she's a dagger user while I'm a rapier user.

She's an Assassin to be precise, I'm a Fencer so I specialize in power, and second only is my speed, Tempo is fast at her attack speed, while I lack a bit in those.

I am still fast on my feet though.

She's still pretty despite having been working here for about a month, my pretty face was gone in just 2 weeks of working here.

Though I did get it back in just 2 months.

"Get up girls, we have work to do, the King ordered us to gather some materials for the Hero's new weapon. "

I told them.

I then grabbed their weapons and their work cloaks for them, we don't really need our weapons in this task but just in case if monsters decided to rush us in, we can't be too risky.

Back then, they break in the walls every night when everyone is asleep, which almost send all of us to extinction.

Luckily, the King's still woke up and he's there, or else...

"For the Hero, huh? What is he like? Have you met him, Joy? "

Vigor asked me.

"Yes, I don't really know about what he's like, I noticed he wimps out every once in a while, but when he tries he actually succeeded. "

I told her.

"Is he even strong? Or he's just an intelligent guy? Mage or a warrior? "

Tempo asked me as well.

These ladies, full of questions when it's about men? How about asking me about how my day has been?!

"He's a warrior, and I noticed that his combat style is very different, he is a summoned being, so that's probably the reason, also I sparred with him earlier too. "

I answered as we left their office.

It's nice talking to these girls again, We are always together back when we are just a normal warrior of the kingdom, right before all the kingdoms unite as one against the monsters.

We fought together, shared memories, and sometimes enjoy ourselves, but now.

We are burdened by humanity's survival that we rarely spend time together.

"You're too interested in him, what is this!? "

I asked them.

"Obviously, he's a Hero, he must be pretty attractive, right? "

Vigor asked.

They're always asking me about it, even when I became the King's Informer.

For Pete's sake, he has a wife and a kid! These two are so much trouble.

"I don't know, you guys know I can't judge others by their looks, you tell me, I'll introduce you guys later, but for now, we have work to do. "

I told them.

"You bet you will, you're always focused on your work, you should really need a husband. "

Tempo said teasing me.

She then fondled me, of course, she does!

"Stop it, let's just finish this work. "

I told her and shoved her away.

We then left the castle to head towards the outskirts of the Ango Kingdom, because we need to collect them somewhere that has rare materials.

And since this is the Hero's weapon it has to be forged to its greatest quality.

We stopped by my office first to get the material list for the weapon and distribute one to each of them.

"Where are we collecting these, Joy? By the looks of it, we're going South, ain't we? "

Vigor asked me as she reads the materials.

"We will, it's on the surface of Mineral Cave that we always go-to for rare materials, remember? "

I asked as we as leaving my office.

"Yeah, it's been a long time since we went there, are we using the tunnels or we'll be using repellent potions? "

Tempo asked me.

"Since most monsters sleep at night, we should be safe to travel outside using repellent, the tunnels are locked in this hour since monsters always discover them in just 3 nights that is opened. "

I told her.

We had about 6 different tunnels that are sealed after the GA monsters discovered them, and we had to rebuild them on each side of the kingdom afterward.

The North, Northeast, East, Southeast, South, Southwest, West, and Northwest Walls.

"I have some extra repellents, let's use them. "

Vigor said.

"That's fine, Vigor, the King provided some for us. "

I told her and showed them the 3 repellents.

"Bummer, alright, I'll keep this for myself then. "

She said and put away her extra repellents.

She's very kind, but since this was ordered by the King, he gave us tools for this task.

Nevertheless, it's been a long time since the Triplets of Peril has been together in a mission, hasn't it?

Every time we are together on the battlefield, we are dubbed as that, since we cause the biggest damage to the enemy when there's a battle.

But only a few still remember it as it was back in the time when the GA monsters don't exist.

We then left the office building, and on our way out of the castle.

"Hey, Triplets! "

I heard a familiar voice as we are on our way to the South Exit of the Kingdom.

"Yo, Parter? It's been a long time! "

Tempo shouted at him.

Is he still working?

"Yeah, been a long time, have you ladies recovered yet? "

He asked, to Vigor to be precise.

"I'm fine, big man, are you still on duty? "

Vigor asked him.

"Yeah, well, it seems I'm the one being taught by the Hero after sparring with him instead. "

He said as he smiles.

"Oh, how's he been? "

I asked.

I sure hope he's getting better if Parter is with him.

"He's still at the Training grounds, doing some sort of training I think. "

He said.

"Is he hot?! "

Tempo asked.

"Tempo... "

I told her.

"That depends, I'm a man, so you'll have to see for yourself. "

He said.

That's fairly obvious.

"Well, don't let him slack off, I will meet with him soon. "

Tempo told Parter.

"Alright, have fun ladies, don't cause too much peril. "

Parter advised us ironically.

He is a former warrior of this kingdom, so he knows about our history.

Now he is only a mentor and a blacksmith of this kingdom.

I don't know why he doesn't want to be an exclusive blacksmith of the castle, he should've been getting a lot of credit, his forges are very unique too.

"We will. "

Tempo said and we left Parter afterward.

He seems to be a good enough person that I can suggest to the King to have him handle the Hero's weapon.

"Parter, I'll talk to you later after we get back! "

I shouted at him, notifying him before leaving.

"Yes, Ma'am! "

He shouted back.

"What's that about? "

Vigor asked me.

"He's a good forge, perhaps he can handle Hero's weapon. "

I told her.

"He did make my daggers, and they have been with me for a very long time now. "

Tempo agreed.

Triplets of Peril, it may be so long now, but maybe... just maybe, we can work together once again.

Vigor has been busy with her work as the General that I barely see her.

And Tempo, she might be working with me now, but we only see each other once per moon, we switch work hours every other day.

But we rarely encounter each other in-between.

These girls are my closest I could call to like my sisters and them not being by my side all the time like the old days...

Makes me feel like I wanna choke myself.

But what else can happen now that humanity is standing in its last wits, maybe a last stand may occur.

Still, we may not even see it happen.

Or maybe the Hero will succeed?

The Hero will have to make a stand and prove his worth, or he'll be discredited.

Perhaps he actually has plans for the kingdom? And if he does, I'm eager to see it.

"Do you think the Hero can defeat God, Joy? "

Vigor asked me.

That's an existential question if I ever hear one.

"I don't know, if he can then I hope to see it, to be honest, my expectation for our survival is very slim, and I'm just forcing myself to function for our kingdom. "

I told her.

I wish to be very enthused about the Hero's presence in the kingdom, but I just couldn't do it.

"You sure are losing your marbles, Joy, relax! The Hero got this. "

Tempo comforted me, tapping my back along with it.

I wish it will, and I hope I could, but once I see signs, I will definitely be exhilarated.
