Chapter Nine By the time the bus parked on Pier Road, the day had changed into a perfect, bright afternoon. Sunlight sparkled on the water, dancing on the spiking tips of waves. Although there was no real warmth in it, the bay glittered happily. A few souls had noticed the afternoon and had taken advantage by heading out in various boats that were scattered here and there. Abbey stepped from the bus and adjusted her sunglasses, squinting across the bay. ‘I didn’t realize you can see Williamstown from here,’ she said ‘They wouldn’t make us row over there if we couldn’t see it,’ Jennifer said.
