Jim stretched and pulled out his tablet. It was the one thing in the house he could be sure wasn’t bugged, because he’d bought it himself with money he’d stashed away for years. He didn’t exactly regret marrying Josie, but the sacrifices he’d made to make it happen, never left his mind. He’d more or less adjusted to the lack of privacy. And the celibacy. He could live with the occasional television appearance, even if it made his skin crawl. Josie was alive and that was what mattered.
