I shot up from my feet in anger, the chair scraping loudly against the floor as it toppled backward.
"You did what?!"
I stared at Ethan as he had just spoken an entirely different language. For a second, I genuinely wondered if I'd misheard him. If maybe the pounding in my head had twisted his words into something they weren't.
But his expression told me everything. Annoyingly calm.
I had been sitting here moments ago, mind racing, carefully turning over every possible way to destroy Cassian without destroying my pack members in the process, and Ethan had just gone ahead and handed me over like a bargaining chip.
