Chapter Seven The Dam Breaks The lull of the slow timer from the kitchen first alerted Samantha of the early morning light gleaming through her window. Brimming forth her own aching bones to fight and struggle against the weight of her feather like sheets, trying as she could to jerk them from her form, slinging her legs to the side of the bed before her mind could process that her classes would be starting soon. A low sigh escaped her lips as she forced her body to leave the sanctity of her bed and trudged to her bag, laying lifeless as where she assumed she left it. The torn material evident on what had happened last night, stinging her trembling eyes to tears as she would definitely have to face the day as she knew there was no avoiding it.
