Elena's POV

As the church door opened, I walked down the aisle with my true mate, feeling the intense gazes of Clarissa, Mom, and Derek burning into me. I smiled at myself, I felt vindicated, I felt powerful and strong. There was nothing any of them could do now to hurt me.

“Luna Elena, will you take Alpha Lloyd here as your lawful wedded husband, for rich or for poor till death do you part?” The priest's voice jotted me off my thoughts.

I took a deep breath, feeling the weight of the moment. 'I do,' I declared firmly.

“Alpha Lyod,will you take Luna Elena here as your lawful wedded wife, for rich or for poor till death do you part?” He asked.

“I do,” Alpha Lloyd responded. Everyone clapped. It echoes through the Church.I saw Derek’s face twisted in anger and disgust.

“Elena! How are we going to survive? How can we eat in this house without your salary? Or you will keep working?” Mom immediately asked As soon as the ceremony ended, Mom grabbed my arm roughly, desperation etched on her face.

“Mom you're hurting me!…what do you even mean by that? I'm married now and am going with my husband. After all, Clarissa and Derek are still here.” I responded.

“You know too well that Clarissa is not working and Derek is not a billionaire like your husband!” Mom yelled.

“Well your daughter can try and find a job and if she can’t she has a capable husband who would help her do all those things” I attacked. I hated how entitled they were, I mean they hurt me and they still have the guts to ask me for Favors and help.

“Elena, I see you're so happy now because you already got what you wanted, the man of your dreams! But bear one thing in mind…I won't let you have a peaceful home ! I will make sure Alpha Lloyd dump you! I will make your whole life miserable Elena! Mark my words!” Clarissa said wickedly. Her eyes filled with jealousy.

“That's enough Clarissa, you're making a scene.” Derek said, holding her back.

“Let me go! You're siding with her now? It's your fault for being so poor! I'm supposed to be the one with that billionaire Alpha.” Clarissa cried with envy. Must she take everything from me? She was so entitled and inconsiderate.

“Don't you dare talk to my wife like that! And you, how much is she owing you? I'm going to pay all the money.” Alpha Lloyd growled. He stepped forward and grab my waist protectively, for the first time I felt loved and protected. Someone wanted to protect me and love me for me without me asking. I looked up at him with so much admiration.

“Fine then, give me two million dollars and she’s yours!” Mom said, her voice dripping with greed.

My eyes widened in shock, were they really selling me to him right now? Without even asking for my opinion.

“ Mom! Am I your commodity!? I'm your daughter.” I said.

“I don't care! Alpha Lloyd is rich, okay? Don't be another set of bad luck to me like your dead mother!” Mom shouted in anger, her words pierced through my heart like daggers.I hated when she badmouthed my mother.

“It will be sent to you, Elena…let's go.” Alpha Lloyd said, he pulled me off my foot and carried me in a bridal style on his arms, we left.I don't care, I'm really feeling on top of the world.

I woke up with my stomach rumbling loudly, and my throat feels disgusting to me. I feel like throwing up. I rushed off to the bathroom and Lloyd followed suit immediately.

“Hey, are you okay?” He asked me as I wiped my mouth.

“ I don't know, I'm feeling dizzy and sick.” I responded weakly.

“C’mon let's go to the hospital.” Lloyd said concerned.

“We should probably have breakfast first, I’m really hungry” I couldn’t help going out without food.

“Okay if that’s what you want! We’ll eat then go to the hospital” he negotiated making me laugh.

“Okay sir”

He led me to the dinning table and I saw various foods, I didn’t know which to take and it looked out of the world.

“Are we having guest over?” I asked because it looked like we were having a feast and we never had this amount of food back at home.

“No we aren’t, it’s just breakfast for both of us, why do you look surprised?” He chuckled

“We’ve never had this much meal back at home, I mean this food was going to last us a whole month and we’re having it in one day?” I was still shocked.

“Yes now sit let’s eat”

I stretched my hands forward to get some waffles on my plate with berries and cream, I stared digging in then I stretched forward to get some eggs but the minute I brought the spoon close to my nose I felt my stomach turn with disgust and I pushed it away with so much hatred.

“What’s the matter? You don’t like eggs?” He looked genuinely concerned and worried for me

“No I love eggs but I feel like puking after smelling it.” I complained

“Oh then we really need to go to the doctor” I agreed with him and ushered for us to go immediately.

We paced nervously around the sterile, white hospital corridor, the antiseptic smell making my stomach churn even more as we awaited the test results. Soon, the doctor came out with smiles on his face.

“Doctor, what's the issue with my wife?” Lloyd asked hastily.

“Congratulations Mr and Mrs Lyod, your wife is 1 week pregnant.” The doctor said, I immediately hugged Lloyd and he grabbed my waist. He placed a kiss on my lips.

“We're expecting a baby soon!” He said happily.

“Why don't we go to the casino today? To play games.” He suggested and I nodded immediately happily.

Casino house.

Everywhere was lit, music blared loudly and it was noisy. We forced ourselves inside and sat at a cool spot. Some men kept staking money while playing. Alpha Lloyd plays perfectly.

“Hey man, it seems like you have won a lot here, let me give you the shock of your life, can I join you guys!?" A familiar voice said and I looked up immediately, it was Derek walking straight to us with Clarissa by his side. Not again!

“Oh! Elena! It's my pleasure to meet you here again, I wonder what a riffraff and poor girl like you will be doing in such an expensive casino house!" Clarissa exclaims mockily.

“Watch your mouth Clarissa,I'm not here for a chitchat!" I fired back, Clarissa looked at me disgustingly.I wanted to hit her hard on the head.

“And how is your lovey dovey husband treating you?, don't worry, I hope he takes care of your poor self." Clarissa mocked.

“Stop talking nonsense lady!" Lloyd yelled angrily and Clarissa kept calm.

“Elena,you shouldn't be here, it's expensive for you and I know your boyfriend here can afford to spend so much on you but, not for someone like you." Derek said.

“One more harsh word to my wife again, you will lose your tongue because I will make sure you beg for mercy” Alpha Lloyd growls slowly.

“As far as I can remember Derek, I didn't take a penny from you while being your ex-fiance and mind how you talk to me, I'm not your silly old-fashioned girlfriend here and can sue you for harassment!" I replied confidently.He looked shocked and frustrated but he couldn’t do anything because he knew Already ha Lloyd was going to send him out.

Soon, Derek and Alpha Lloyd played the game together until her Lloyd stakes 50 million dollars, Derek couldn't afford it so he lost. I was happy to know that he lost, Clarissa face went red due to embarrassment she hated the fact that Derek lost in my presence.

“The winner of the game is Alpha Lyod, and Luna Elena!" The general announced. I smiled inwardly and scoffed wickedly. Clarissa scoffed and angrily dragged Derek out.

We both walked out of the casino house and Derek followed with Clarissa.

“Impressive Elena, quick to adjust without me huh?" Derek smirked, I stopped and turned facing them.

“Really? That's impressive to you? How about me being Clarissa's shadow for 2 good years!? And finding out that you both are having an affair!" I responded confidently.

“Don't take it out on my husband Elena,blame it on your poor self if you must." Clarissa said as calmly as she could.

“Keep your fake kind words to yourself Clarissa, don't act innocent here." I fired. Clarissa walked closer to me.

“We don't have to be enemies right?" She said, placing her hand on My shoulder.

“Get your filthy hands off me!" I said and shook her hands off my shoulder.

“I'm not done yet with you two,

remember that! I will make sure you all pay for what you did to me one by one!” I yelled and left to meet my husband outside.
